Trivia
Origin
Zarude mostly takes traits of various monkeys and apes such as mandrills, baboons, spider monkeys, and gorillas. It may get its grass-typing from how monkeys and apes often live in wooded or jungle areas that contain vines. It may also be based off of the aye-aye, a lemur that lives in Madagascar that was killed as it was thought to be evil, possibly explaining its dark-typing. It could also have been based on the Shuf Monkey from English folklore and the Carew Ape, a ghost who is said to haunt the Carew castle.
Etymology
Zarude comes from saru (monkey), rude, and possibly the za- prefix of Zacian and Zamazenta.
