XY143: Facing the Needs of the Many!/Transcript

This is a transcript of the Pokémon the Series: XYZ episode: "Facing the Needs of the Many!".

Narrator

Our heroes have brought Goodra back to its home in the wetlands and everyone is saying their goodbyes.

Ash Ketchum

It's awesome that we were all able to battle together.

Goodra

Goodra.

Ash Ketchum

Hey, don't be sad. I'll see you again.

[Dedenne breaks down crying and jumps onto Goodra's face. Goodra goes teary eyed.]

Goodra

Goodra. Goodra.

Ash Ketchum

Take care, Goodra.

[Hawlucha, Noivern, Greninja and Talonflame speak out their farewells.]

Goodra

Oh-oh.

[Goodra gives Dedenne back to Bonnie. Ash offers a handshake.]

Ash Ketchum

Thanks again.

Goodra

Goodra.

[Goodra touches Ash's hands and nods. The camera fades to a large group of Pokemon waving their goodbyes to their heroes as they walk away.]

Bonnie

Everybody get along.

Serena

See you later!

Clemont

Goodbye, everyone.

Ash Ketchum

See ya!

Ash's Pikachu

Pika-pika!

[Goodra waves.]

Goodra

(Breaks Down) Goodra! Goodra!

[The heroes walk into the forest. Serena looks at her Pokedex.]

Serena

Say, the airport is up and running again.

Ash Ketchum

Yeah? Guess when we get back to Lumiose City, I'll fly home.

Clemont

I guess that means our journey is almost over. It's kind of sad, you know?

[Bonnie looks down at the upset Dedenne. Suddenly, some root vines quickly grow from a distance.]

Serena

Is something wrong?

Ash Ketchum

Uh, I'm not sure.

[Greninja forces itself out of Ash's Pokeball.]

Ash's Greninja

Ninja!

Ash Ketchum

Greninja? What's going on?

[Greninja stands up. More root vines break through the ground in front of the heroes. Greninja back-jumps out of the way. Ash and Pikachu have suspicious looks.]

Ash Ketchum

What's that?

Clemont

One of those vines - like before.

[A flash-back plays of the vines infiltrating a building.]

Ash Ketchum

Could Team Flare be doing all this?

Ash's Pikachu

Pika!

[The opening theme and title card plays.]

Clemont

I wonder if this could be the work of a group of some sort - a group like Team Flare.

Bonnie

But I thought Squishy got rid of them all.

Ash Ketchum

We've got to get rid of them right away. You ready, Greninja?

Ash's Greninja

Ninja!

[Greninja transforms into Ash-Greninja. In Ash- Greninja view, molten magma grows inside the vine, glowing a red tint.]

Ash's Greninja

Ninja.

Ash Ketchum

You're right. I see it, too. Huh?

Serena

What, Ash? What do you see?

Ash Ketchum

It's some red thing.

Ash's Greninja

Ninja!

Ash Ketchum

Got it. At least it's worth a try. Hey, Greninja. Water Shuriken!

[Greninja uses a Shuriken to pound the ground next to the vine. It creates a ring-shaped explosion, forcing the vine to shrink.]

Bonnie

You did it!

Clemont

Looks like it lost its strength.

Ash Ketchum

Wonder if it came from that red glow.

Ash's Pikachu

Pika!

[Through the forest, the Zygarde Cell appears on a tree branch. Suddenly, the ground starts shaking, causing everyone to panic.]

Bonnie

Now what's going on?

Ash's Pikachu

(Pointing to something threatening in the distance) Pika!

Ash Ketchum

Argh!

[One of Team Flare's vehicles drive into the forest approaching the heroes.]

Ash Ketchum

Look out!

[They shriek in panic. The vehicle drifts, U-turns and parks. The Zygarde Cell floats towards Team Flare's vehicle, which the heroes notice.]

Ash Ketchum

Hey!

Clemont

It's a Cell!

Bonnie

It's Squishy's friend!

[A chimney opens out, sucking the cell in. Xerosic - alongside Malamar, laughs evilly.]

Clemont

It's you!

Xerosic

We meet again.

Bonnie

Clemont. Who's he?

[A angry Clemont appears through Xerosic's glasses.]

Xerosic

Nehahaa!

Clemont

Xerosic - Team Flare's scientist. I've battled him.

[Clemont flashes back to a moment where Xerosic falls through a hole.]

Clemont

But I thought I...

Xerosic

No waaa-aaay! (Weakly) True. I lost to you back then, but I'm miraculously back! And I'm now in the process of creating Team Neo Flare.

Serena

Team Neo Flare?!

Ash Ketchum

What are you going to do?!

Bonnie

Give back Squishy's friend right now!

[Xerosic's glasses shine.]

Xerosic

No, I can't do that. I'm going to get every Cell and obtain Zygarde Complete Forme! Lysandre's ambitions will then be able to come true. (Laughs)

Ash Ketchum

(Angrily) I'm never going to let you get away with that. Greninja, smash that thing. Water Shuriken!

[Greninja fires Water Shuriken.]

Xerosic

(To Malamar) Stop them with Signal Beam.

Malamar

Malamar!

[Malamar fires Signal Beam into a tree, creating a plume of smoke and causing the heroes to cough and splutter.]

Bonnie

Clemont, they took it.

Clemont

And I know that Cell is Squishy's friend.

[Clemont glows and is uncontrollable.]

Clemont

Oh! (Shrieks)

[Clemont is forced into Team Flare's vehicle.]

Xerosic

You'll be coming with us, too. (Laughs)

[The rest of the team run past the smoke to check on Clemont.]

Ash Ketchum

Clemont!

Bonnie

Clemont, no!

[The vehicle drives away.]

Ash Ketchum

No!

Ash's Pikachu

(Alarmed) Pika!

Ash Ketchum

(To Greninja) You can catch up to them. Do it.

[Greninja nods and obeys. Inside the vehicle, Clemont, under the effects of Psychic and with four Zygarde Cells trapped in a cylinder, protests in front of Xerosic.]

Clemont

What are you planning to do with me?

Xerosic

Your scientific knowledge will be useful. You will join us, of course?

Clemont

I'll never help you.

Xerosic

Oh, I don't need you to agree. If I use my control system on you, you'll do as I say - just like Zygarde did. You'll be an enhanced human.

Clemont

(Groans and is dropped to the ground)

Xerosic

Prepare to use the beam.

Clemont

(Waves, sweating) Wait. Please don't use the beam. I have one request. May I clean my glasses first?

Xerosic

(Snickers) That's all? But of course.

Clemont

Thanks very much. (Cleans his glasses) Ah.

[A laser rotates down to Clemont's face.]

Xerosic

Now, ready? Let's begin.

[Clemont's glasses glow white. The laser loads and activates. Clemont screams. Cut to Team Rocket, arguing over something in the laptop on a tree stump.]

Jessie

(Angrily) When I say no, I mean no! My close-up should be right here.

James

It should be when I give my command.

Jessie

Please!

Meowth

Now hear this! (Starts typing) It's going to be when I was flying the news-copter, capiche?

[Jessie and James grab hold of Meowth's head.]

Jessie & James

(In unison) What?!

Wobbuffet

(In unison) Wob?!

James

WE destroyed Team Flare and not the twerps, you twit!

Jessie

What will we do if the boss finds out?!

[The ground shakes. They shriek as a vine grows behind Team Rocket. Two Zygarde 10% Formes approach and attack the vines, generating black smoke.]

James

(Coughing) That came out of nowhere.

Jessie

But what I'm asking is... just what was that?

[Wobbuffet holds a video camera recording the footage.]

Wobbuffet

Wobbu-wob!

Jessie

You recorded the whole thing?

[The team are back on their laptop.]

James

I'll edit that golden nugget into our scene.

Meowth

Buzz off!

Jessie

I'm the genius here!

[Team Flare's vehicle parks in the forest. Xerosic and Malamar investigate the area.]

Xerosic

(Encouraging) My dear Cell, where are you?

[Xerosic and Malamar move forward. Behind them, Greninja hides in the tall grass, seeking them. Cut to Ash.]

Ash Ketchum

Ah! Greninja just found them.

Serena

How's Clemont?

Ash Ketchum

Well, all I see are Xerosic and Malamar.

Ash's Pikachu

Pika.

Ash Ketchum

Think that you can sneak inside somehow, Greninja?

Ash's Greninja

Ja!

[Xerosic and Malamar stop.]

Xerosic

Oh, there you are. Malamar, use Psychic.

Malamar

Malamar!

[Malamar's eyes glow blue, along with the Zygarde Cell. The cell is transported through the cylinder. Xerosic laughs gleefully. Meanwhile, Greninja tiptoes behind the vehicle, but he, Xerosic and Malamar see each other. Cut to Ash, Serena and Bonnie running.]

Ash Ketchum

Oh, no!

Xerosic

Absurd. What are you doing here? Malamar, use Signal Beam.

Malamar

Malamaaar!

[Greninja leaps to dodge Signal Beam.]

Ash Ketchum

Greninja, Water Shuriken!

[Water Shuriken directly hits Malamar with a plume of black smoke, causing Xerosic to flinch. The rest of the team stop by the cliff.]

Bonnie

(Pointing ahead) There they are!

Ash Ketchum

(To Xerosic, angrily) You give both of them back.

Xerosic

Retreat for now. All right, Malamar, use Psycho Cut!

[Greninja is unaffected. The vehicle starts moving away. Greninja runs after it, leaping his way to the front of the vehicle, shuddering Serena, Bonnie, Ash and Pikachu and to the delight of Xerosic and Malamar. Serena puts her head in her hands.]

Serena

No, it can't be!

Ash Ketchum

It's fine.

Serena

Huh?

[Cut to Ash-Greninja view. Greninja attaches itself to the bottom of the vehicle.]

Ash Ketchum

Greninja's fine. It's hiding underneath.

Serena

Yeah?

Ash's Pikachu

(Dreamy) Pikachu!

Ash Ketchum

Yeah.

Serena & Bonnie

(Relieved Sigh)

Ash Ketchum

Okay, let's go!

[They run around the cliff. Meanwhile, Team Flare's vehicle parks itself. The aircraft-powered contraption is inserted. The rockets activate and the vehicle flies away, with Greninja still on board.]

Ash's Greninja

Ja!

[Xerosic presses a button, making the vehicle disappear.]

Ash's Greninja

Ja!

Xerosic

All right. It looks like I've got away. And by now, that thing should be finished.

[Ash stops by the column. He notices the aircraft in the sky.]

Ash Ketchum

I can see them - up there!

[Cut to Ash-Greninja's view as the aircraft hovers past the column.]

Ash Ketchum

Let's go!

Serena

Right!

Bonnie

Right!

[The segment "Who's that Pokemon?" plays.]

[Meanwhile, Clemont is still inside the vehicle, with glasses growing white. Xerosic enters.]

Xerosic

(To Clemont) So, how are you feeling now?

Clemont

I feel great, thanks to you, Xerosic, leader of Team Neo Flare.

Xerosic

(Gleefully) That has such a nice ring!

[Ash's team make it to the top of the mountain.]

Ash Ketchum

We're here!

[The team take a look.]

Ash Ketchum

I know Greninja's flying around here, though I can't see just where.

[Cut to Greninja's view, which shows just a rocky wall.]

Ash Ketchum

Greninja! We're here - up at the top of the mountain.

[Greninja turns to where Ash is.]

Ash Ketchum

I see it. I should be able to reach it if I jump. I'll hop on that plane.

Serena

Huh?

Bonnie

Huh?

Serena

Not from here.

Bonnie

What happens if you fall?

Ash Ketchum

I can't let them escape. I've got to do it.

[Ash takes a few paces back. He straightens his cap.]

Ash Ketchum

I'm going! OK, with me?

Ash's Pikachu

Pika, Pika!

[Serena holds on to Ash's hand.]

Serena

I'm going, too!

Bonnie

Me, too!

[Cut to Bonnie, holding Ash's other hand.]

Bonnie

We are always a team, right?

Ash Ketchum

All right. Make sure you do what I say.

[The team prepare themselves, holding their hands, Greninja watches on. As the plane approaches them at the right time...]

Ash Ketchum

Now! Let's GO!

[The trio start running and leap off the cliff, screaming. Greninja extends his tongue, wrapping around Serena's arm as it drags the trio into the void. They make it into Team Flare's vehicle.]

Ash Ketchum

You did it, Greninja.

Serena

Yeah, thank you.

Bonnie

That was a close one.

[The team are inside the vehicle, having a look around.]

Ash Ketchum

Clemont - where could he be?

[They see Clemont, with glowing glasses.]

Ash Ketchum

Clemont!

Bonnie

Clemont.

[Xerosic pulls off a sinister laugh.]

Xerosic

I welcome you all to the unveiling of the enhanced human.

Ash Ketchum

(Angrily) What did you do?

Bonnie

(Angrily) Give me back my brother and Squishy's friend right now!

Xerosic

(Laughs) Your brother is currently being mind-controlled and has become Team Neo Flare's first enhanced human.

Bonnie

Huh?! (Turns to Clemont, becoming scared) Oh.

Clemont

(Deadpan) Yes, Xerosic, sir.

Bonnie

(Afraid) Ah! Clemont!

Serena

It can't be!

Ash Ketchum

Clemont, snap out of it.

Ash's Pikachu

(Dreading) Pika!

Xerosic

(To Clemont) Unit one, your first job is to capture them all.

Clemont

Right. As you wish.

[Clemont raises his arms out and approaches the heroes.]

Serena

This can't be real!

Bonnie

Clemont!

Ash's Pikachu

Pika, Pika!

Ash Ketchum

There's no way Clemont could be that weak.

[Xerosic laughs.]

Ash Ketchum

He'd never give in to your mind control.

[Clemont stops.]

Clemont

(Deadpan) Ha, ha, ha. (Snaps out, removing the glow on his glasses; justified) Thank you for having faith in me, Ash.

[Ash's team are exhilarated.]

Ash Ketchum

Yeah!

Xerosic

What?!

Clemont

You know I'm an inventor. The future is now, thanks to science. Clemont to gear on. (Holding a chip) After what happened before, I invented this multi-electromagnetic wave blocker.

[The camera closes in on the chip, which sparkles.]

Clemont

I call it: Jamming Unit 1.

[Clemont flashes back to an earlier moment, attaching the chip to the corner of his face.]

Clemont

I inconspicuously attached it while pretending to wipe off my glasses.

[The flashback ends.]

Xerosic

Unbelievable!

Clemont

That makes twice you failed against one of my inventions. This device in my Clembot should prove whose inventions are superior. Time to admit you've been defeated.

Xerosic

(Enraged) Oh! My inventions are inferior? This is not possible! Crobat, use Air Slash now!

[Clemont draws out his Pokeball.]

Clemont

Chespin, Pin Missile!

Greninja turns to them.

Chespin!

[Crobat shoots Air Slash. Chespin unloads Pin Missile. The two moves collide in an explosion, causing everyone to yelp, flinch and brace themselves. Ash joins in with Clemont.]

Ash Ketchum

Clemont, let's get 'em together.

Clemont

All right!

Ash's Greninja

Ja.

Greninja turns to them.

Ches!

Xerosic

All right, Malamar, Signal Beam. And Crobat, Wing Attack!

[Xerosic's Pokemon execute their moves.]

Clemont

Now, dodge it.

Greninja turns to them.

Chespin!

[Chespin attaches its vines onto Greninja to dodge the attacks. Chespin swings around and heads towards Crobat.]

Clemont

Use Tackle!

[With Crobat's wings glowing, Chespin hits Crobat's head with Tackle, knocking it down to the ground.]

Xerosic

You pesky little...! I'm not going to let you annoying brats ruin my plan of perfection. Now, Crobat, use Air Slash!

[Crobat leaps up and unloads Air Slash.]

Ash Ketchum

Water Shuriken!

[Greninja throws the shuriken, breaking Air Slash and hitting Crobat directly, fainting it.]

Xerosic

Crobat, return. This is not acceptable. As long as I have my ideas and my genius mind, I'll be able to recreate this world. Defeat is NOT an option!

[Xerosic and Malamar retreat. An annoyed Ash groans and goes after him, along with the rest of the team.]

Ash Ketchum

Come back!

[Xerosic slams a button, opening an emergency door at the side of the craft.]

Xerosic

Malamar, return. (Returns Malamar, to Ash's team) We must meet again some time. I'm not finished yet. See you again!

[Malamar jumps down. Clemont goes after him from the edge of the craft.]

Clemont

You won't get away!

[Clemont deploys a grabber tube which extends down and attaches to Xerosic's back.]

Xerosic

Agh! Let go!

[The grabber pulls him back up.]

Clemont

You're going to pay for all the awful things you did. And, from now on, you need to invent things that help humanity.

[Xerosic clenches in silence. Later, he is arrested by Officer Jenny.]

Xerosic

Tell me something. You've got a lot of strength - but why?

[Clemont tweaks his glasses.]

Clemont

Honestly, I wasn't that strong before, but my time with Ash and all my friends, and all that we've experienced - that's given me the strength I have now!

Xerosic

Ah! Your friends.

Officer Jenny

Now, get in.

[Xerosic is inside the police car. Officer Jenny drives away.]

Serena

Glad that's over with.

Bonnie

(To the Zygarde Cell) Hey, you know Squishy, right? Squishy's your friend.

Zygarde Cell

...

[The ground rumbles again.]

Bonnie

Huh?

[The molten vines grow again, causing everyone to shriek in panic. The vine slams down to attack Bonnie, but is broken in half by a green streak, causing an explosion and everyone to brace themselves from the smoke.]

Ash Ketchum

What happened?!

[Bonnie opens her eye and sees something.]

Bonnie

Huh?

[The smoke clears to reveal a Zygarde 10% Form. It glows green and unleashes green streaks. It transforms back into the Cell Form. Bonnie becomes touched and teary eyed.]

Bonnie

Ah! Squishy!

[She picks the Cell up and hugs it.]

Bonnie

I missed you. Feeling better now? My little Squishy.

Zygarde Cell

Hm-mm!

Serena

We're getting to see Squishy again.

Clemont

Bonnie, that's great, isn't it?

Ash Ketchum

Sure is.

Ash's Pikachu

(Happy) Pika!

[The Cell requests to let go of Bonnie.]

Bonnie

Huh? What is it?

[The Cell jumps away from her grasp and hops onward.]

Everyone

Huh?!

Zygarde Cell

Follow me.

Ash's Greninja

Gre.

[The Cell hops forward. Greninja follows it.]

Bonnie

Where are you going?

Ash Ketchum

Come on.

[Ash's team follow them. Eventually, Greninja, along with Ash's team, stop and watch.]

[It leads towards Zygarde's 50% forme.]

Ash Ketchum

Zygarde!

Zygarde

Greninja, I've come to ask a favor of you.

Ash's Pikachu

Pika?

Serena

Was that the voice of Zygarde?

Ash Ketchum

It's telepathy.

Zygarde

The vines that reappeared - their roots are burrowed themselves deep into the ground and they emerge by absorbing negative energy. What we destroyed was nearly on the surface. The scars from the incident that nearly destroyed the world are deep. The two of us are destroying the roots that are scattered throughout Kalos, one by one. However, it's difficult for even me to pinpoint their exact locations. Yet, Greninja, it seems that you are somehow able to locate them.

Ash's Greninja

Ja!

[Ash gasps and flashes back to the molten magma inside the vine.]

Ash Ketchum

So that was the negative energy.

Zygarde

I do not know why only you possess that power, but I am in need of your assistance. Will you help us with your power?

Bonnie

Power?!

Serena

Does that mean...?

[After a pause, Ash steps forward.]

Ash Ketchum

What will it be, Greninja?

[Greninja turns to them.]

Ash Ketchum

I know what happened before can never happen again.

[Greninja nods.]

Ash Ketchum

Remember what Professor Sycamore said?- That maybe it wasn't a coincidence that I met you way back when you were still a Froakie.

[-Ash flashes back to previous memories of Froakie. The flashback ends.]

Ash Ketchum

I think that maybe he was right - it wasn't a coincidence.

[Ash flashes back to previous memories of Greninja as a Frogadier. The flashback ends.]

Ash Ketchum

That when you and I power up, it isn't an accident.

[Ash flashes back to previous memories of Greninja. The flashback ends.]

Ash Ketchum

Maybe your power was always meant for this moment.

Ash's Greninja

Ninja.

Ash Ketchum

Thanks. (Nods and shows a strong arm) You always became stronger to help someone else. So now, this time, you'll help Kalos and the world. It's like something's telling you that what you need to do now is find all that negative energy.

[Greninja nods.]

Ash Ketchum

Don't worry. We'll always be connected, even if we're not in the same place. The truth is - we won't ever really be apart.

Ash's Pikachu

(Sad) Pikachu!

Ash Ketchum

This is what you've got to do.

Ash's Greninja

Gren...

[Greninja comes back to Ash and offers a handshake. Ash accepts. They hug each other.]

Ash Ketchum

(Breaks voice) Oh, Greninja.

Ash's Greninja

Greninja.

[After a while, they let go. Greninja walks towards Zygarde.]

Ash Ketchum

(To himself) That's right. This is how it has to be.

[Ash rubs off his tears. Greninja offers to join Zygarde.]

Ash's Greninja

Greninja.

Zygarde

Thank you. Ash, Greninja will be in my care.

Ash Ketchum

(Teary-eyed) Yeah! I'm counting on you, Squishy.

Bonnie

Hey, Squishy!

Zygarde

(Upset) We probably won't see each other for a while, Bonnie.

Bonnie

(Teary-eyed, breaks voice) It's OK. I know that you've got a lot of important work to do. I'll always be cheering you on, you know.

Zygarde

I'll always be with you, too, Bonnie.

Bonnie

(Teary-eyed, breaks voice) I'll come and find you when I become a trainer. We'll be together again. That's a promise.

Bonnie's Dedenne

Dedenne!

Zygarde

(Nods) Yes, that's a promise.

[As Zygarde and Greninja bid farewell, all heroes and their Pokemon wave goodbye.]

Ash Ketchum

Take care of yourself, Greninja.

Bonnie

You, too, Squishy! Take care!

[Greninja holds the Zygarde Cell.]

Ash's Greninja

Greninja.

Narrator

Greninja and Ash may be parting ways, but this also means the beginning of new encounters. In search of their own new encounters, our heroes will no doubt experience many new and exciting adventures as the journey continues.

[The caption "TO BE CONTINUED..." appears at the bottom of the screen. The credits appear.]
