XY136: A Towering Takeover!/Transcript

This is a transcript of the Pokémon the Series: XYZ episode: "A Towering Takeover!".

Narrator

During the final battle between Ash and Alain at the Kalos League, Ash-Greninja faced Mega Charizard once more and was defeated, leaving Alain the Kalos League Champion. But during the awards ceremony, an unexpected crisis occurred.

[At Lumiose City, black and red vines grow through the buildings. A Zygarde, filled with a red aura, roars.]

Lysandre

It's here. The spotlight's on my greatest work of all.

[A vine wraps around the Prism Tower. The Red Zygarde roars and unleashes a shockwave. More vines grow. The entire stadium is damaged and surrounded by vines, including the inside, where Ash, Pikachu and Alain are making their way through the wreckage.]

Alain

Where's Mairin?

Ash Ketchum

During the finals, she didn't want to get in your way. She asked me not to tell you.

Alain

She's always overlooking these things.

Ash Ketchum

At a time like this, I guess I can ask, is Mairin important to you?

Alain

Uh... yeah.

Ash Ketchum

Let's go find her. We'll help you look.

Ash's Pikachu

Pikachu.

[Outside the entrance to the stadium, people are fretting. Ash, Pikachu and Alain evacuate and step outside.]

Ash Ketchum

It's out here also.

Ash's Pikachu

Pika.

Serena

Ash!

[Ash's allies arrive.]

Ash Ketchum

There you are.

Clemont

Are you all okay?

Ash Ketchum

Yeah, we're doing fine.

Bonnie

Ash, Squishy disappeared. It ran off somewhere.

Ash Ketchum

Oh.

Woman (Over speaker)

Giant, mysterious, creeping vines are overrunning the city, and there has been major damage centered around Prism Tower. Avoid that area during evacuation. Again, there has been major damage around Prism Tower.

[Cut to their view. A red light glows at the top of Prism Tower.]

Clemont

What's that?

Ash Ketchum

It's glowing.

Alain

Could it be...Zygarde?

Serena

What do you mean?

Alain

Those vines are the work of Zygarde, for sure.

Clemont

Oh, no.

[As more people evacuate the city, a Zygarde Cell hops towards the source.]

Zygarde Cell

(To itself) Respond. Respond!

[It jumps on top of a vine and glows. The other cells scattered around the city glow and warp green streaks. A horde of bright green streaks are transferred towards the cell, which grow into a ball, starting its transformation.]

Woman

Oh, what is it?

[The Cell transforms into Zygarde 10% Forme. It roars.]

Zygarde

You! What is it? Respond. Respond!

[Zygarde takes off towards the Prism Tower.]

Bonnie

Squishy. (To the rest of the team) Squishy is heading over to Prism Tower.

Clemont

What? Really?

Bonnie

Yeah, I'm sure of it.

[Bonnie runs ahead, while Clemont tries to restrain.]

Clemont

Bonnie, wait!

Ash Ketchum

Go! We'll catch up with you guys a little later.

Serena

What about you?

Ash Ketchum

I'm going with Alain to find Mairin.

Serena

But...

Ash Ketchum

I'll see you as soon as we find her.

[Ash and Alain run off.]

Clemont

Hey, Ash. (Rummages in his pockets) Take this!

[Clemont gives everyone a communicator.]

Clemont

It's a communicator. I thought we'd encounter a situation precisely like this one. It's not that powerful but it should come in handy.

Ash Ketchum

Thanks, Clemont.

Serena

Be careful, okay?

Ash Ketchum

I will.

[Ash and Alain leave. Meanwhile, a Steward is instructing residents.]

Steward

This way, and stay calm.

[A vine grows through the ground in-front of the steward.]

Steward

Argh!

Sawyer

Sceptile, Leaf Blade!

[Sceptile breaks a vine with Leaf Blade.]

Sawyer

All right. Hurry up.

Tierno

OK, We're going to make a path.

Shauna

Ivysaur, let's go!

Trevor

You too, Charizard!

Tierno

Blastoise!

Ivysaur

Ivysaur!

Blastoise

Blastoise!

Charizard

(Growls)

[Sycamore is instructing more residents.]

Professor Sycamore

Everyone, that way!

[Another set of vines grow in front of Sycamore. Sycamore flashes back.]

Olympia

Green fire. A flickering green flame. I saw it engulf Kalos and threaten to consume all of the people and Pokemon in that swirling fire.

Professor Sycamore

So, Olympia foresaw this was going to happen.

[The heroes keep running.]

Olympia

You will all play a substantial role in the chaos and turmoil.

Professor Sycamore

(Sighs) But where exactly are Ash and the others now?

[The opening theme and title card plays.]

[Residents run away in panic as the vines continue to terrorize the city.]

Woman

Ah, run, hurry! We have to go!

[A boy shudders as a vine approaches him, but is intercepted by Diantha and her Gardevoir.]

Diantha

Are you all right?

Boy

Yes, ma'am.

Officer Jenny

Thank you very much.

Diantha

Hi, Officer Jenny. Glad you're here. How is the evacuation going?

Officer Jenny

I've got every officer on duty, but the damage is quickly spreading.

Diantha

OK. Show me the way to the tower, please.

Officer Jenny

Right.

[Team Rocket are shrieking and wailing as they try to intercept another group of lashing vines.]

Jessie

Oh, this is crazy! What is going on?

James

It doesn't appear to be a natural disaster.

Meowth

Get those things out of here! Get those things out of here!

Malva

It's Lysandre.

[Team Rocket stop fighting.]

Team Rocket

Huh?

[Mairin hears a familiar voice calling her.]

Alain

Mairin! Mairin!

Mairin

(Gasps) It's Alain! (Calls happily) Alain!

[Alain and Ash find Mairin on top of a balcony.]

Alain

Mairin!

Ash Ketchum

Mairin, over here!- We need to get to Prism Tower.

[-Another vine grows between Ash and Mairin. The others run away.]

Mairin

Alain!

Alain

I'll save you. Charizard!

[Charizard is deployed from Alain's Pokeball, wearing armor.]

Charizard

(Roars)

Alain

Use Dragon Claw!

[Charizard breaks the vine with its glowing claws.]

Alain

Yes-

[-A pair of vines regrow in-front of Alain.]

Ash Ketchum

Pikachu, Iron Tail!

[Pikachu destroys them with its glowing tail. Two more vines grow across Ash and Alain, causing them to groan. Another officer is redirecting panicked residents]

Officer

Do not get into your vehicles.

[10% Zygarde traverses through the carnage towards Prism Tower.]

Zygarde

Respond! What's going on?

[Malva walks forward away from Team Rocket's recording equipment.]

Jessie

Hey. Where are you going?

Malva

This show's off the air. As for you, you can do whatever you like.

[Team Rocket gasp.]

James

But Malva...

Meowth

You mean, you're just going to stop reporting?

Malva

I remembered something very important.

Team Rocket

Huh?

Jessie

Of all the nerve! I never!

[Jessie steps back to a moderate distance.]

Jessie

Hold on a minute. I've got an idea. Camera!

[James controls the camera.]

James

All right. Good. Ready.

Meowth

Go!

Wobbuffet

Wobb!

[James pans the camera to the destruction of Lumiose City, then to Jessie.]

Jessie

(Reporting) To anyone who can hear. I'm reporting from Lumiose Stadium. the Kalos League Awards Ceremony was interrupted by a terrible calamity.

[Another vine strikes the Prism Tower. Cut to a school television, with students appearing shocked]

Jessie

A sudden attack by mysterious, creeping vines has left Lumiose City in ruins.

[Cut to the Pokemon Center, with her reporting on a large TV screen, then to a living room of a house.]

Jessie

What exactly IS going on here? Please stay tuned.

[Cut to a radio outside a farm.]

Jessie

I, Jessie Murrow, will continue broadcasting live updates.

Ash's Pikachu

Chuuu!

[Pikachu uses Thunderbolt and Charizard uses Flamethrower together. Both moves combine to destroy the vine.]

Alain

How's that?!

[Pikachu and Charizard land. However, another vine grows in-front of them.]

Ash's Pikachu

(In Danger) Pika!

Alain

(Grunts)

Celosia

Okay, pay attention! Are you finally ready to listen?

Ash Ketchum

I know you. You were hunting for Squishy.

Celosia

Wonderful. You remembered. But today, I'm after something different. Now I'm after you.

Ash Ketchum

(Worried) After me?

Ash's Pikachu

(Worried) Pika?

Alain

What do you mean?

Celosia

Lysandre's orders.

Ash Ketchum

Alain, wait. Do you know who she is?

Alain

...

Ash Ketchum

Hey, Alain.

Celosia

Does he know me? Of course he does, we're colleagues.

Ash Ketchum

You're working with the ones chasing Squishy? (To Alain) What is she talking about?

Alain

...

Celosia

Lysandre wants to see you now, so come with me right away. My associate has gone after Squishy. Let's get moving, Alain.

Ash Ketchum

Alain, whatever she's saying, don't listen to it. Let's go.

[Ash grabs hold of Alain's arm. Alain lets go. Ash turns around, confused.]

Ash Ketchum

Alain?

[A group of Team Flare grunts appear with their Houdour.]

Ash's Pikachu

Pika?

Celosia

Now Drapion, Confuse Ray!

Drapion

Drrraaa!

[Drapion directs Confuse Ray at Ash and Pikachu. A group of rotating orbs burst, downing the duo.]

Ash Ketchum

Alain. What's... going on?

[Pikachu struggles to get up.]

Ash's Pikachu

Pi... Pika, pi. (Notices Ash lying down; calls) Pika, pi. Pika, pi! Pikaaa!

[The Houndour surround and snarl at Pikachu, now generating electricity from his cheeks in fear.]

Celosia

Oh, dear. Look who loves its trainer.

[Pikachu flops to the ground.]

Celosia

Grab them!

Male Team Flare Grunts

Right.

[The grunts lock Ash's limbs with security tags. Cut to Team Rocket.]

Jessie

This is Jessie Murrow, reporting to you live form Lumiose Stadium. You can see the massive damage to Lumiose City.

[The screen cuts off with Team Flare's logo in-front of Meowth.]

Meowth

Something's weird. (Pops head out the door; calling) Hey!

James

Hm?

Jessie

What?

[Cut to a Pokemon Center, showing Team Flare's logo. Everyone - holding goods, turn to the TV.]

Everyone

Huh?

[Lysandre appears on the screen.]

Lysandre

To my beloved Kalos Region and the entire world. I am Lysandre. Team Flare is with me to do my bidding.

[Clemont, Bonnie and Serena look up at the screen.]

Clemont

I know him.

[Mairin, on the balcony, looks at the screen.]

Lysandre

I have an announcement.

Mairin

Ha, Lysandre.

Lysandre

We are here to remake the world into a place of pure beauty and peace.

[The segment "Who's that Pokemon?" plays.]

Lysandre

Team Flare's purpose is to transform our world into an exquisite example of creation. This Pokemon's name is Zygarde, a legendary Pokemon who will preside over the new order of the Kalos Region. So, as leaders of this new order, we have decided to join forces with this powerful guardian of creation. Zygarde is angry at the behavior of both people and Pokemon. The discipline of this world has been lost. Humanity is out of control. We have forgotten how to share. Without sharing, people begin to steal from each other. When that happens, there is not enough for anyone. In order to live in peace without stealing, we must reduce the number of beings on this planet. Only the chosen ones will move into our bright, hopeful future. We of Team Flare, along with the fury of Zygarde, will be the ones who will make that judgment. The new order will do away with the chaos of the world and bring about the beautiful future we desire.

[A crowd of people murmur in fear.]

Mairin

But why?

Male Team Flare Grunt

Mairin, we have orders from Lysandre to bring you to him right away.

Mairin

Huh?

[Mairin turns to the grunt.]

Mairin

So you're the bad guys, too?

Male Team Flare Grunt

No.

Mairin

Hu-uh.

Male Team Flare Grunt

We are doing all this for the cause of world peace.

Mairin

Stop!

[The Grunt goes to grab Mairin, but Sycamore grabs his arm, stopping him.]

Mairin

Huh? Professor.

Professor Sycamore

Forcing anyone to do something against their will is wrong. I don't like that.

Male Team Flare Grunt

(Forces Sycamore's arm away from him) Keep out of this!

[Mairin blows a raspberry.]

Male Team Flare Grunt

Skorupi, Poison Sting!

Professor Sycamore

Garchomp, Dragon Claw!

[As Skorupi shoots purple streaks, Garchomp blocks the move, causing an explosion. As the explosion clears, Sycamore is out of the grunt's view. He groans. Up in the aircraft, two Flare grunts occupy Ash and Pikachu, still immobilized, and Alain, who looks out the window. Down on the ground, Sycamore and Mairin walk through the destruction, the latter stopping to catch her breath.]

Professor Sycamore

Are you okay?

Mairin

I'm fine, thanks to you, Professor. But what about Alain?

Professor Sycamore

You saw him?

Mairin

That's right. He was with Ash. They were talking about Prism Tower.

Professor Sycamore

I see. He and Ash may be in grave danger.

Mairin

(Gasps)

Professor Sycamore

We need to head there now. Stay close.

Mairin

OK. I'm worried, Professor, about all that stuff Lysandre was saying.

Professor Sycamore

Yes, we have to be careful and find out what's really going on.

Mairin

(Sighs)

[Under the ground, Xerosic is aside the control system. A Team Flare grunt - with Alain - walk past the door.]

Xerosic

Hello, Alain. Lysandre's waiting.

Alain

(Angrily) What about Zygarde? Why did you involve Ash?

Xerosic

Lysandre will soon give you all the details. (Cackles)

[Alain goes up an elevator to the top of the Prism Tower. He speaks to Lysandre in protest.]

Alain

Lysandre.

Lysandre

There you are. Alain, what do you think? Isn't it exquisite?

Alain

Huh?

Lysandre

Thanks to you, the system is complete.

Alain

But wait, it still isn't...

Lysandre

The world will be at peace, just as I've been working toward.

[The red Zygarde roars and unleashes a shockwave. Root vines destroy buildings. the 10% Zygarde hops through the carnage and looks up from the bottom of the Prism Tower.]

Lysandre

Isn't it beautiful? All of the ugliness is slowly disappearing. Behold. (To Alain) You see, Zygarde represents all of our anger and rage.

Alain

You're destroying the city and hurting people. Is this really what you think world peace is about? You said you're protecting us.

Lysandre

yes, I'm protecting... the chosen ones only.

[10% Zygarde climbs up the root and makes it to the top of Prism Tower. It looks at the red Zygarde, which stares back.]

Zygarde

What is it? Aren't you able to hear my voice? Answer me! Don't you know me?

Lysandre

You're here, Z-1.

[Meanwhile, Luxray and Braixen destroy roots, but more roots grow across buildings. The two Pokemon pant in exhaustion. Two more roots grow behind Clemont, Serena and Bonnie.]

Clemont

I'm afraid it's no use.

[The roots bends down ready to attack them, Braixen yelps after noticing them. The trainers scream, but they are broken through, leaving a cloud of dust causing the trainers to cough and splutter. Clembot and Heliolisk arrive.]

Clemont

Clembot!

Clembot

Yes, yours truly, at your service.

Heliolisk

(Squawks)

Bonnie

Thanks a lot, Heliolisk.

Clembot

If my master is in a jam, I'll always be there to help.

Clemont

Clembot, way to go! I need your help now. I want to go to Prism Tower.

Clembot

Right away.

[Root vines grow, causing the all to scream. Mega-Blaziken jumps down and breaks them with High Jump Kick.]

Blaziken Mask

that was close, young ones.

Serena, Bonnie and Clemont

Blaziken Mask!

[Blaziken Mask steps down to meet the trio.]

Blaziken Mask

I'm here now, so all of you can relax.

Clemont

Blaziken Mask, I think the Prism Tower is the source of all this trouble.

Blaziken Mask

Hm.

Clemont

If you can go and help, maybe you can save Lumiose City.

Blaziken Mask

Understood. Leave it to me. You and the others seek safety.

[He walks past them towards Prism Tower, leaving the heroes concerned.]

Clemont

Come on. That's where my gym is.

Bonnie

And Squishy, too!

Blaziken Mask

Stay away. Who knows what I'll find there. You could be in mortal danger.

Bonnie

(Upset) But Squishy's my dear little friend.

Clemont

(Angrily) And I can't just abandon the Lumiose Gym. I have precious memories there. If I don't do something, I'll regret it forever!

Bonnie

Come on!

Serena

Let us go, too!

Blaziken Mask

I understand. I'll allow you to follow behind me. But if there's any sing of danger, you have to turn back.

Everyone

Right!

[At the top of the Prism Tower, 10% Zygarde is trying to make the red Zygarde obey.]

Zygarde

Wake up!

[The red Zygarde uses Dragon Breath, with the 10% Zygarde doing the same. As both moves collide, the red Zygarde wins out, causing the 10% Zygarde to blast back and transform back into its cell, extracting bright green streaks, and becomes Paralyzed, helplessly crashing down to the ground. Back at the city, Serena, Clemont and Bonnie come with Blaziken Mask. Bonnie stops.]

Bonnie

Oh!

Clemont

Bonnie?

Bonnie

That's Squishy.

[Serena, Clembot and Blaziken Mask stop.]

Serena

Huh? What's wrong?

Bonnie

Oh, Squishy's in a lot of pain. We've got to hurry.

Blaziken Mask

Almost there. Come on.

[Cut to Alain and Lysandre.]

Alain

Lysandre, you've said it yourself. You had to be strong to protect the world. Is this what you meant by that?

Lysandre

You speak of the power to protect. Just what do you want to protect in the first place? A tomorrow that is worse than today?

Alain

(Nods and grunts)

[A computer beeps.]

Computer

All preparations are complete.

Lysandre

Excellent.

[Floating from the Prism Tower is Ash, being held captive with arms out wide and enclosed in security tags over his hands and feet, followed by all of Ash's Pokemon. Alain stares up in shock, followed by the rest of the heroes.]

Clemont

This is horrible.

Bonnie

Where's squishy?

Blaziken Mask

First, we secure the entrance. (To Mega-Blaziken) Use Flamethrower!

[A move hits Mega-Blaziken before it can pull off Flamethrower. The heroes shudder in shock.]

Blaziken Mask

Blaziken!

[Two Team Flare grunts appear with Druddigon.]

Aliana

We can't allow that.

Clemont

Team Flare!

Aliana

Sorry, but there's no way you're getting past us.

Bryony

This area is off limits to outsiders.

[The heroes don't move. Meanwhile, Ash is helpless in his position.]

Ash Ketchum

Huh?

[Looks at himself.]

Ash Ketchum

What am I doing like this?

[Struggles and strains to break free, to no avail. He notices Greninja.]

Ash Ketchum

Greninja!

Ash's Pikachu

Pika!

Ash Ketchum

Pikachu, are all of you okay?

Ash's Pikachu

(Straining) Pikachu.

Lysandre

Hello, Ash.

Ash Ketchum

Uh? (Angrily) Lysandre, Alain. What's going on?! Let us go!

Lysandre

Forgive me for your regrettably rough treatment, but I can't release you.

[Ash sees the red Zygarde.]

Ash Ketchum

Huh? Zygarde. (Strains) Alain, what's this about?

Alain

...

Lysandre

You see, Ash, you may be one of the chosen ones.

Ash Ketchum

(Grunts)

Clemont

Well, I think you're the ones who should be leaving. The Lumiose Gym is mine. I have the right to be here.

Bryony

Oh, oh, please.

Aliana

Yeah.

Serena

So, Team Flare was behind all of this?

Clemont

Yes. And it looks to me like they're up to no good, for sure.

Blaziken Mask

The situation here is more serious than I imagined.

Bonnie

Oh, it's Squishy.

[The Zygarde Cell glows green and floats up, gathering the group of Zygarde Cells across the land. The gathering creates a shield.]

Ash Ketchum

Oh!

Ash's Pikachu

Pika...

[The Zygarde Cells starts transforming. The heroes gasp.]

Bonnie

Squishy!

Aliana

Z-1!

Ash Ketchum

Oh!

Ash's Pikachu

Pika?

Alain

Oh!

[As it spirals towards the top of the tower, it's transformation is complete, becoming Zygarde 50% Forme. It roars.]

Bonnie

Squishy, yay!

Ash's Pikachu

Pika?!

Ash Ketchum

So, Squishy is, is Zygarde.

Clembot

Huh?

Serena

No way.

Clemont

That's unbelievable.

Aliana

Well, what do you know?

Bryony

Zygarde has appeared just as Lysandre said that it would.

[The Red Zygarde roars and goes head-to-head with the green Zygarde.]

Zygarde

If you will not listen to me, I will use force. Ignorant fool!

[Both Zygarde crash to the ground and stare at each other. The screen photosnaps in high contrast.]

Narrator

Amidst the ruins of Lumiose City, two Zygarde now clash. What will happen to our heroes? And what about Alain? Lysandre's dangerous ambition continues to run wild as the journey continues.

[The caption "TO BE CONTINUED..." appears at the bottom of the screen. The credits appear.]
