XY134: Finals Not for the Faint-Hearted!/Transcript

This is a transcript of the Pokémon the Series: XYZ episode: "Finals Not for the Faint-Hearted!".

[Audience cheers.]

Announcer

We've seen battle after ferocious battle here at the Kalos League and now it's time for our final match! So lets welcome the two Trainers who have battle their way here with honor. ASH!

[Audience cheers.]

Announcer

And ALAIN!

[Audience cheers. Lysandre, the male Team Flare admin and Mairin watch from a separate room.]

Mairin

You can do it, Alain!

[The two Trainers stand opposite each other on separate platforms.]

Ash Ketchum

It's finally time. Man, Alain's strong. We're going to have to give it all we got.

Alain

I've really been looking forward to this battle with Ash, but I won't let him win it, no matter what.

Announcer

And here's our first battlefield for the finals: It's Water and Rock!

[A battlefield of Water and Rock ascends from under the stadium.]

[The opening theme and title card plays.]

Narrator

It's the final round. Who will emerge victorious? Will it be Ash? Or Alain? We'll find out soon.

Referee

The Kalos League battle between Ash and Alain is about to get under way. When all six of either Trainer's Pokémon are unable to continue, the battle will be over. In addition, when three of the Pokémon on one side are unable to continue, the battlefield will change. Bring out your Pokémon!

Ash Ketchum

Pikachu, I choose you!

Ash's Pikachu

(Fired up) Pika! Pikachu!

[Pikachu lets off electric sparks in excitement.]

Alain

Tyranitar, go!

Tyranitar

Tyra-a-a-a!

[Alain deploys Tyranitar from his Pokéball. Tyranitar activates Sand Stream, triggering a Sandstorm on the battlefield. Pikachu flinches himself.]

Ash's Pikachu

Pi...ka!

Ash Ketchum

This could be trouble!

Sawyer

What do you know? Alain's battling with a Tyranitar!

Clemont

And since Tyranitar's ability is Sand Stream, that will make it hard for Pikachu to see and move around.

Serena

Don't worry. Ash can handle it.

Bonnie

(Calling aloud) Go get him, Ash! Go get him, Pikachu!

Dedenne

Denene!

Referee

All right, battle begin!

Ash Ketchum

Get ready, Alain!

Alain

Bring it on, Ash!

[A "VS" screen appears, with Ash, Pikachu and five other Pokéballs on the top screen, and Alain, Tyranitar and five other Pokéballs on the bottom screen.]

Alain

Tyranitar, Dark Pulse!

Ash Ketchum

Dodge it, Pikachu!

[Pikachu jumps behind a rock to dodge Dark Pulse. The rock blows up. Some of the debris falls into the sea, which Ash notices.]

Ash Ketchum

(Realizes) That's it! Pikachu, get to the water and use Iron Tail!

[Pikachu dives into the water and uses Iron Tail on it. Rain starts falling, negating the Sandstorm.]

Ash Ketchum

Thunderbolt! Quick!

[Pikachu is already behind Tyranitar. It jumps and uses Thunderbolt, hitting and knocking down Tyranitar.]

Alain

Not bad.

Ash's Pikachu

Pi.

Serena

(In unison) Go, Ash!

Bonnie

(In unison) Yay!

Clemont

He cleared the sandstorm with a splash of water!

Sawyer

And water conducts electricity, so using Thunderbolt was a great strategy. Ash is doing great.

Alain

Hmm.

Ash Ketchum

And we're just getting warmed up. Electro Ball!

[Pikachu aims Electro Ball at Tyranitar.]

Alain

Stone Edge, go!

[Tyranitar pounds the ground. Blue crystals rise, blocking Electro Ball.]

Alain

Hit it with your tail!

[Tyranitar smashes the blue crystals by swinging his tail. The shards aim towards Pikachu.]

Ash's Pikachu

(Panicking) Pika! Pi...

Ash Ketchum

Hit him back with Iron Tail!

Ash's Pikachu

Chu-chu-chu-chu-chu!

[Pikachu deflects the shards with Iron Tail. They hit the ground, generating a dust cloud in-front of Tyranitar.]

Alain

Wait for it to land, then use Crunch!

[Tyranitar charges forward. Pikachu lands.]

Ash's Pikachu

Pi. (Threatened) Pika!

[Pikachu sees Tyranitar in close range with its teeth lit up. Tyranitar tries to bite the target.]

Ash Ketchum

Quick, Iron Tail!

Ash's Pikachu

Pika. Chuuu... Pika!

[Iron Tail collides with Crunch. Tyranitar swings and flings Pikachu up in the air.]

Ash Ketchum

Now, Electro Ball!

[Electro Ball hits and faints Tyranitar.]

Referee

Tyranitar is unable to battle. Pikachu's the winner!

Announcer

An impressive win, no doubt. And Ash is off to an early lead.

Ash Ketchum

We've got one win right out of the box.

Ash's Pikachu

Pikachu!

Serena and Bonnie

All right! (Giggles)

Tierno

Wow. That was a quick victory.

Trevor

Having the first win totally puts Ash in the driver's seat.

Clemont

(Fingers trembling in excitement) If he gets five more wins, he's the champion!

Diantha

Ash has really been on fire since the semifinals.

Professor Sycamore

Yeah.

[Sycamore flashes back.]

Alain

And I can't return. I lost far too many things after I left for my journey. Until I can get them back, I have to become much, much stronger.

Professor Sycamore

Alain, what feelings are you holding inside?

Malva

It's the Kalos League finals and the fans are beside themselves. However, the battle is only just beginning.

Meowth

OK, and cut.

[Malva walks along the stadium.]

Malva

All right, next shot!

Team Rocket

Right!

[Team Rocket put their heads forward.]

James

This battle won't be a walk on the park, you know. This kind of battling would wear out any Pokémon.

Jessie

But once they're on empty, that's when we swoop in. Team Rocket for the win!

Meowth

First we'll grab the winner's and the runner-up's Pokémon, including Pikachu, of course, and those dumb twerpy dimwits won't know what they're going to do!

Malva

We've got work to dooo!

[Team Rocket run along the stadium following Malva.]

Team Rocket

Aw! A-working we will go!

[Pikachu returns to Ash.]

Ash's Pikachu

(Happy) Pika, Pi!

Ash Ketchum

Awesome! Pikachu, why don't you rest up for now?

Ash's Pikachu

Pikachu!

Ash Ketchum

Noivern, I choose you!

Noivern

Noivern!

Alain

(To himself) This feeling, I've been waiting for it. Let's go, Weavile!

Weavile

Weavile!

Announcer

Our next battle is between Noivern and Weavile!

Ash Ketchum

OK, Noivern, Supersonic!

[Noivern activates Supersonic.]

Alain

Weavile, Protect!

[Weavile creates a shield, blocking Noivern's move with Protect.]

Alain

Night Slash!

[Weavile leaps toward Noivern and slashes it, crashing it to the ground.]

Ash Ketchum

Supersonic!

[Noivern screeches, sending pulses toward Weavile forcing it into the rocks.]

Alain

Now, Ice Beam!

[Weavile fires Ice Beam.]

Ash Ketchum

Use Boomburst!

[Ice Beam and Boomburst collide in mid-air, creating a cloud of mist.]

Ash Ketchum

Now, Dragon Claw!

[Noivern flies along the water and up the rock, activating its claws. It attempts to hit Weavile from close range.]

Alain

Double Team, go!

[Weavile makes several copies of itself.]

Ash Ketchum

Use Supersonic, and find the real one!

[As Noivern activates Supersonic, it sees all the fake Weavile in gray-scale. It finds the real in their normal colors.]

Ash Ketchum

There is is!

[Noivern charges toward the real Weavile.]

Alain

Dodge!

[Weavile jumps to dodge Dragon Claw, forcing Noivern to hit the rock with it.]

Alain

Use Ice Beam!

[Weavile loads up Ice Beam.]

Ash Ketchum

Dodge it, quick!

[Ice Beam hits Noivern a couple times, causing it to lose control of it wings and dive into the water.]

Ash Ketchum

Ah!

Alain

Night Slash!

[Weavile dives into the water, and skims Noivern across the water with the move, eventually scooping it up. Noivern faints on the ground.]

Referee

Noivern is unable to battle. Weavile is the winner!

[The crowd cheers.]

Announcer

Weavile comes out on top by aiming an Ice Beam at Noivern's Wing!

[Ash and Pikachu hurry over to Noivern.]

Ash Ketchum

Noivern!

Ash's Pikachu

Pika, Pika!

[Ash lifts Noivern's head up.]

Ash Ketchum

Noivern, are you okay?

[Hawlucha forces itself out of Ash's Pokéball and walks over to comfort Noivern.]

Hawlucha

Hawlucha?

Noivern

Noi...

Hawlucha

Lucha! Hawlucha.

Noivern

Noi.

Ash Ketchum

Noivern, take a good rest.

[Ash returns Noivern back to his Pokéball.]

Ash Ketchum

OK, it's all yours.

Hawlucha

(Strong arm pose) Lucha! Haw!

[Cut to Ash's friends, subdued.]

Bonnie

Oh, Noivern.

Clemont

Now both sides are all evened up.

Serena

It's okay. Hawlucha will get Weavile back.

Ash Ketchum

Hawlucha, let's go!

Hawlucha

Lucha!

Alain

Hm.

Ash Ketchum

Hawlucha, use Karate Chop!

[Hawlucha leaps.]

Alain

Dodge it!

[Weavile looks up in anticipation. Hawlucha attacks from close range, with Weavile dodging every hit.]

Announcer

And Hawlucha launches a fierce attack! Weavile can barely dodge it!

Sawyer

Fighting-type moves are especially effective against Weavile. That was a good call.

Clemont

But that's only if they make contact. Weavile's totally aware of what's going on.

[The close range battling continues over water, with both Pokémon's feet submerged.]

Alain

Now, direct Ice Beam at Hawlucha's feet!

[Weavile fires Ice Beam in said direction. Hawlucha jumps up and slips but balances on the now-frozen water.]

Ash Ketchum

An ice field, huh?

Hawlucha

Haw!

Alain

Ice Beam, let's go!

Weavile

Weavile!

[Weavile fires Ice Beam.]

Ash Ketchum

Stay right where you are!

[Hawlucha blocks Ice Beam and trots on the spot, gaining momentum. Steam forms from under the ice.]

Alain

Huh? Now use Night Slash!

[Weavile sets up his claws.]

Ash Ketchum

Not yet.

[Hawlucha blocks Weavile's Night Slash. Hawlucha's aura glows red, keeping the momentum going.]

Tierno

Oh, wow!

Clemont

It's using the ice to reduce any damage.

Alain

We'll try this again. Night Slash!

[Weavile runs across the ice and prepares its move.]

Ash Ketchum

Hang in there!

[Hawlucha crosses its arms up to its face. Weavile jumps and dives at the target. Hawlucha gets hit, skids backwards across the ice and hits the ground, causing a dust cloud.]

Announcer

And it's a ferocious attack from Weavile! Is that it for Hawlucha?

[The dust clears, revealing Hawlucha still standing.]

Announcer

No, It's standing! Hawlucha is still standing!

[Hawlucha trots on the spot, full of momentum.]

Ash Ketchum

Hawlucha takes an opponent's attacks and just keeps on getting stronger. Look out, Alain.

Alain

As you wish. Night Slash!

[Weavile leaps toward the target.]

Ash Ketchum

All right, Hawlucha, go!

[Hawlucha leaps as well and grabs of Weavile, tossing it to the ground. Diantha and Sycamore gasp in amazement.]

Ash Ketchum

Now, Flying Press!

[Hawlucha flips several times and dives with its wings outstretched, hitting Weavile and crashing it to the ground, which also breaks the ice in the water. Hawlucha returns to Ash's side of the battlefield. Weavile faints.]

Referee

Weavile is unable to battle. So Hawlucha is the winner!

[The crowd cheers.]

Hawlucha

Lucha!

Ash Ketchum

All right!

Ash's Pikachu

Pika, Pika!

[Alain returns Weavile back to his Pokéball.]

Announcer

Hawlucha pulls off a turnaround victory with a sharp aerial attack.

Serena

Hawlucha was great!

Clemont

Ash really used Hawlucha's fighting style to the max.

Sawyer

Yeah, Hawlucha believes in Ash and Ash believes in Hawlucha.

Serena

That's for sure. Trust is what Ash is all about.

Lysandre

Ash has some fine Pokémon.

Mairin

Alain, you can do it!

Alain

Bisharp, let's go!

Bisharp

Bisharp!

Announcer

And Alain's third Pokémon will be Bisharp!

Ash Ketchum

Be sure to stay focused, Hawlucha.

Hawlucha

Haw!

Alain

Thunder Wave!

[Thunder Wave hits Hawlucha, paralyzing it and skidding it across the ground in a downed state.]

Ash Ketchum

Uh-oh! Hawlucha, no!

Announcer

That was Bisharp's Thunder Wave! After that last battle, Hawlucha's in a jam.

Ash Ketchum

Stand up, Hawlucha!

Ash's Pikachu

(Panicking) Pikachu!

[Hawlucha stand up, feeling the effects of paralysis.]

Alain

Use Guillotine!

Ash Ketchum

X-Scissor!

[They run towards each other and hit each other with their moves, both tumbling on the ground.]

Ash Ketchum

Now, High Jump Kick!

[Hawlucha jumps up with its legs glowing and dives at the target. Bisharp sees Hawlucha coming down towards it.]

Alain

Dodge it!

[Bisharp rotates its head backwards to dodge the move. Hawlucha crashes to the ground, taking damage.]

Ash Ketchum

Oh!

Alain

Guillotine, go!

[Hawlucha sees the move coming towards him, but suffers from the paralysis. Bisharp creates an X-shaped mark. Bisharp poses again, causing the mark to explode. Hawlucha faints.]

Referee

Hawlucha is unable to battle. Bisharp's the winner!

[The crowd cheers.]

Announcer

And there you have it. That was the powerful move, Guillotine!

Tierno

I thought Ash had the advantage. He was up with two wins.

Trevor

But Alain evened the score. That guy's tough.

[Ash returns Hawlucha.]

Ash Ketchum

Awesome, Hawlucha. You were great. Now take a good rest.

[Alain returns Bisharp.]

Alain

(To himself) Battling against Ash is a lot of fun. I don't remember the last time I've had so much fun. It allows me to forget about time completely. (Aloud) Unfezant, let's go!

Unfezant

Un!

Ash Ketchum

Talonflame, you're up!

Talonflame

Flame! Talonflame!

[Both Pokémon take to the sky. Talonflame flips and swoops upward. Unfezant follows. Both Pokémon fly up together, flip backward and dive into the water, creating a rain cloud.]

Alain and Ash

Steel Wing, let's go!

[Both Pokémon take to the air, activate their wings and hit each other with their moves, creating an explosion of turbulence.]

Announcer

Tremendous impact!

[Both Pokémon swoop past Ash and Pikachu, forcing them to shield themselves from the turbulence.]

Ash Ketchum

Ugh!

Ash's Pikachu

Ah!

Ash Ketchum

Talonflame, Flame Charge!

[Talonflame surrounds itself in flames and swoops upward. Unfezant chases the target.]

Alain

Use Sky Attack!

[Unfezant surrounds himself in bright gold stars. Unfezant chases the target, creating a corkscrew effect between the two auras. They soon collide together in mid-air.]

Alain

Air Slash!

[Both birds fly out of the water. Unfezant zooms ahead and halts to let Talonflame get past. Unfezant twists his body and executes the move, unloading circular blades.]

Unfezant

Fez! Fez! Fez! Fez!

Ash Ketchum

Dodge it, Talonflame!

[Talonflame is hit by one of the blades, sending it down, but swoops across to recover.]

Ash Ketchum

Ramp up your speed with a Flame Charge!

[Talonflame grows a fiery aura.]

Alain

Dodge it!

[Talonflame gets a hit on the opponent.]

Alain

Use Sky Attack!

[Unfezant glows gold and swoops in from behind Talonflame.]

Ash Ketchum

All right, Talonflame, Brave Bird!

[Talonflame glows blue. Brave Bird and Sky Attack hit each other in a big explosion.]

Announcer

And Brave Bird and Sky Attack collide head-on!

[Cut to Ash's friends, concerned.]

Clemont

Huh?

Bonnie

What just happened?

Serena

Huh?

[Both Pokémon crash to the ground, fainted.]

Referee

Talonflame and Unfezant are both unable to battle!

[The crowd cheer.]

Announcer

That huge aerial collision has resulted in a double knockout!

[The segment "Who's that Pokémon?" plays.]

[The crowd continue cheering.]

Announcer

There are just three Pokémon remaining per side, so it's time for a new battlefield.

Clemont

Three against three. That means the final match is all tied up, which can be tricky.

Trevor

One little mistake can turn everything around. That's the kind of battle this is.

Tierno

Yeah, I'm nervous and I'm in the audience!

Clemont

I'm not sure if you know this, but Ash has never beaten Alain before.

Tierno

Huh?

Trevor

Huh?

Shauna

Alain's really that strong?

Serena

But that was the Ash from the past. Ash is a lot stronger now than he was back then.

Ash Ketchum

Three Pokémon left.

Ash's Pikachu

Pika, Pi!

Ash Ketchum

Hm?

Ash's Pikachu

(Strong arm pose) Pika, Pika!

Ash Ketchum

(Copies pose) Yeah! I've got my whole team. And all of you know you've got me.

Ash's Pikachu

Pikachu!

Ash Ketchum

Hey, Alain! Let's have fun to the end!

Alain

(Nods, to himself) What a competitor! Seeing his expression makes me want to battle with everything I've got. This is why I was so focused on battling him.

Mairin

Look at that. He's smiling. I've never seen that before.

Lysandre

(Unconvinced) Really? Well, here we go. (Normally) The final's climax will soon be upon us. Every eye, and I mean every eye, all over the world will be focused on Lumiose City.

[A grass battlefield is inserted.]

Announcer

The exciting Kalos League finals continue! Our second-half battlefield is Grass. What kind of effect will this change have on our battlers' strategies?

Referee

Bring out your Pokémon!

Ash Ketchum

Pikachu, I choose you!

[Pikachu steps onto the grass.]

Ash's Pikachu

(Fired up) Pika! Pika, Pikachu!

Alain

Metagross, let's go!

Metagross

Meta!

Announcer

One again, Ash choose Pikachu, who will now face off against Alain's Metagross.

Referee

Battle begin!

Ash Ketchum

All right, Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!

[Pikachu jumps and loads up Thunderbolt.]

Alain

Use Agility!

Ash's Pikachu

Chuuu!

[Metagross quickly steps aside to dodge the attack. As Pikachu lands, Metagross is right behind him. Metagross jumps again just as Pikachu looks back.]

Ash Ketchum

Move, quick!

[Pikachu turns and runs.]

Alain

Get closer!

[Metagross stops Pikachu every time he runs.]

Alain

Metal Claw!

[Metagross raises an arm up high and hits Pikachu with the move, blasting it back.]

Ash Ketchum

(Annoyed growl)

Alain

Rock Slide!

[The rocks target and fall onto Pikachu, hurting him.]

Ash's Pikachu

Pika!

Ash Ketchum

Pikachu!

[Cut to Serena, Bonnie and Clement, shocked...]

Serena, Bonnie and Clement

Huh?!

[..then to Tierno, Trevor and Shauna.]

Tierno, Trevor and Shauna

Oh!

[The rocks continue falling onto Pikachu generating a dust cloud. A wounded Pikachu pushes the rocks aside and gets up.]

Ash's Pikachu

(Straining) Pika!

Ash Ketchum

Way to go, Pikachu!

Ash's Pikachu

(Straining) Pika!

Alain

Meteor Mash, go!

[Metagross recharges its arms with electricity and brings them together. It then heads towards the target at high speed, hitting Pikachu with the move.]

Ash Ketchum

Pikachu!

[Cut to Malva, then to Team Rocket.]

Meowth

It wouldn't be too shabby if we got that mighty Metagross on our team.

James

I always have mixed emotions observing the Pikachu who's given us so much trouble all of this time. A crisis of twerpish proportions.

Jessie

It doesn't matter who wins. We'll simply grab both of them.

James

Right. Simplicity's best.

[A heavily wounded Pikachu struggles to stand.]

Alain

Wrap this up! Use Meteor Mash!

[Metagross sets up again.]

Ash Ketchum

Come on, Pikachu. Electro Ball!

[Electro Ball hits and electrocutes Metagross.]

Alain

Oh, no!

Announcer

And Pikachu hangs in there with gusto!

Ash Ketchum

Jump on Metagross!

[Pikachu jumps and lands on top of Metagross' head.]

Alain

Huh? Shake it off!

[Metagross moves about while Pikachu hangs on.]

Ash Ketchum

Pikachu, use Thunderbolt! Let's go!

[Pikachu stays on and hits Metagross with Thunderbolt, trying to keep the move going as long as possible.]

Announcer

It's a surprise Thunderbolt from Pikachu! Can Metagross withstand it?

Sawyer

As long as Pikachu's on top, Metagross can't attack!

Clemont

Will Metagross go down first or will Pikachu get shaken off first?

Bonnie

Good luck, Pikachu!

[Metagross struggles to shake Pikachu off while Thunderbolt is still active.]

Announcer

Metagross is struggling. That Thunderbolt is powerful!

Alain

Come on, Metagross!

[Metagross scream with all his might, and finally removes Pikachu and Thunderbolt. Pikachu is up in the air.]

Ash Ketchum

Pikachu, use Iron Tail!

[Pikachu dives and hits Metagross on the head with Iron Tail, fainting it.]

Referee

Metagross is unable to battle. Pikachu wins!

[The crowd cheers.]

Ash Ketchum

Way to go!

Ash's Pikachu

Pika!

Announcer

What a comeback by Pikachu! An amazing turnaround!

[Mairin looks on in disbelief. Cut to Clemont, Bonnie and Serena.]

Bonnie

Yeah, all right!

Serena

Now it's three against two.

Tierno

Ash is back in the lead.

Clemont

But he's up against Alain. He can't lose focus.

Sawyer

And Pikachu's taken a lot of damage.

Diantha

Talk about a surprise.

Professor Sycamore

It's not over until it's over. I think Ash can still pull this battle off.

James

Yes!

Meowth and Jessie

(Suspicious) Huh?!

James

Hey, time out! If it doesn't matter who wins this, then I'm simply cheering for the twerp. (Laughs nervously and scratches head)

Meowth and Jessie

Hmm...

[Metagross is returned to Alain's Pokéball.]

Alain

Charizard, let's go!

[Charizard is deployed. Shauna, Trevor and Tierno look on surprised...]

Shauna, Trevor and Tierno

Oh!

[..along with the rest of Ash's friends]

Serena

Oh! Charizard's up next.

Ash Ketchum

Hmm.

[Charizard lands, scattering dust over the wounded Pikachu.]

Ash's Pikachu

Pika, Pika!

Charizard

Zard!

Ash Ketchum

OK, now you've really got to bring it!

Ash's Pikachu

Pika!

Ash Ketchum

Use Quick Attack!

[Pikachu glows a white outline and charges toward the target.]

Ash's Pikachu

Pi! Pi! Pi! Pi! Pika!

[Pikachu hits Charizard with the move and bounces up in the air.]

Ash Ketchum

Now, Thunderbolt!

[Pikachu stuns Charizard with Thunderbolt.]

Announcer

From Quick Attack to Thunderbolt, Pikachu's- really wrapping it up!

[-Cut to Charizard's leg. It slips onto its knee. Cut to Bonnie.]

Bonnie

(Happy) Wow! It's working!

Dedenne

Denenene!

Sawyer

Thunderbolt is effective against Charizard. Good idea!

[The camera cuts to different people watching on nervously. Cut to Shauna, Trevor, Tierno, Diantha and Sycamore, Mairin, Lysandre, Malva, Team Rocket, Alain, Ash and then Serena.]

Serena

Oh, Ash, Pikachu, good luck!

[Pikachu lands. Charizard stands up.]

Narrator

Will Pikachu emerge victorious or will it be Charizard?

Ash's Pikachu

Pika!

Narrator

And who will earn the prestigious title of Kalos League Champion? The white hot battle between Ash and Alain is nearing its conclusion, so stay tuned as the journey continues.

[The caption "TO BE CONTINUED..." appears at the bottom of the screen. The credits appear.]
