Magearna Moves (Japanese: マギアナ、稼働く, Hepburn: Magiana, Kadou ku, trans. Magearna, Move) the 1st chapter of Pokémon Adventures: Volume 62.
Synopsis[]
Long after Team Flare's defeat, Trevor and Cassius fight to stop "Essentia" and a rampaging Magearna.
Chapter plot[]
Sometime after X's successor ceremony, Trevor was going to Professor Sycamore's lab to continue research Mega Evolution with Gurkinn's disciples. On the way, he encountered a strange, gray ball but ignored it. A few days later, the four go to a cafe. Cassius meets them there and tells them that Emma was arrested for property damage. Apparently, a surveillance camera caught Essentia destroying some exhibits at the Lumiose Art Museum. The suit was recovered from the police at Pokémon Village, but they wouldn't let Cassius see it. They decide to question Xerosic as even though Team Flare disbanded, there still supporters like him out there. In the picture, Trevor also notices the gray ball he had seen. Using Y's borrowed Pokedex, they find out that it was Magearna. They don't know if "Essentia" was using it or trying to stop it.
After rechecking the surveillance footage, they manage to corner Magearna with their Pokémon. Trevor noticed that it did not attack Cassius' Gourgeist. It drags him away and the old man in charge of surveillance is revealed to be "Essentia" who steals a painting. Reviewing a video on the Holo Caster, Trevor finds out that Magearna hesitated because Gourgeist was behind a painting. Suddenly, they are attacked by "Essentia" using a Barbaracle holding the painting. When Magearna uses Fleur Cannon on "Essentia," Trevor finds that the suit in empty.
Meanwhile, Xerosic reveals in interrogation that the suit Trevor and Magearna fought is Ai. It was used to search for Xerneas and Yveltal but abandoned once Emma came along. He swears he did not reactivate it; he thinks it reactivated by itself and went looking for Legendary Pokémon. Back at the museum, the portrait was revealed to be of the scientist that created Magearna. The museum decided to allow the Mythical Pokémon to come whenever it felt like it. Before Trevor prepared to head back to the lab, he revealed that the Delphox that Malva trained was given to a new trainer they found in another region. Since it couldn't bond with the five of the Vaniville Town kids due to Malva's influence, the trainer of the released Delphox is someone who had specialized in releasing. That Trainer was Whitley, and it seems Delphox wants to be with her after all!
In Shalour City, X told Trevor that the reconstruction for the Tower of Mastery is finally possible. He's also with Y, apparently they always end up together. Sycamore and Gurkinn went to the Hoenn region to investigate Mega Evolution, X also passed there once. According to Alexa's notes, something happened in that region that caused everyone on the whole planet to be uneasy.

- This is the final chapter of X & Y Chapter.
- This chapter has been specifically made for the release of volume 62, released in August 2022. It was not added to any of the previous X & Y mini volumes, whose serialization ended in December 2016.
- Though silhouetted, Magearna's creator in the painting resembles Nikola from Pokémon the Movie: Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel.
Mistakes[]
- Normally, Flower Shield raises Defense of all Grass-type Pokémon in battle, which should not have any effect on Magearna.
