Appearances
Anime
Both May and Jessie owned Wurmple that evolved into Beautifly and Dustox, respectively.
Trivia
- In Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, wild Wurmple can be found either holding a Bright Powder or a Pecha Berry. Wild Wurmple caught holding a Pecha Berry will evolve into Cascoon, while Wurmple caught holding a Bright Powder will evolve into Silcoon. This appears to help identify which "-coon" Wurmple might evolve into.
- Wurmple, along with Caterpie and Weedle take the least amount of levels to evolve, with 7.
Origin
Wurmple is based on a caterpillar.
Etymology
Wurmple's name is likely a combination of the words "worm" and "rumple" (as its skin is rumpled and spiny).
