The Wishing Star is a source of Dynamax energy, which can allow a Trainer to Dynamax their Pokémon when they are equipped into a Dynamax Band.
According to Professor Magnolia, the Wishing Stars have some sort of connection to the Dynamax phenomenon. They are parts of the Legendary Pokémon Eternatus.
