Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS[]

Will-O-Wisp is one of two moves that a Chandelure can use in the Smash Run mode of Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, along with Fire Spin. Upon using the move, Chandelure creates three purple flames to shoot at the player's fighter, inflicting darkness-related damage if successful.

Trivia[]

This move is named after the will-o'-the-wisp, a ghost light seen at night over wetlands (bogs, swamps, marshes), fields, and cemeteries, hence why many Ghost-type Pokemon can learn this move.
Even though Will-O-Wisp is a non-damaging, status affliction move, its depiction in the anime is very similar to that of a standard damage-dealing attack, never causing any burns at all, and in one instance being shown to be equal to Charizard's Flamethrower in terms of attack power. This was later fixed in PJ114, where the move is accurately depicted as inflicting a burn.
