Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon

The Weather Trio, also known as the super-ancient Pokémon, is a trio of Legendary Pokémon native to the Hoenn region and comprises Rayquaza, Groudon and Kyogre, each has an individual ability that allows them to control an aspect of the weather. The only one to be dual type is the trio master Rayquaza, who is said to be the only one to be able to control the other two when they meet. They are associated with causing sunlight and rain, or negating both in battle via their abilities.

Prehistoric Forms

Since Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Groudon and Kyogre have a new power known as Primal forms. Their method of transformation is known as Primal Reversion. Rayquaza doesn't have a Primal Form, instead, it has a Mega Evolution Form.

When they enter their alternate form, their weather changing abilities are enhanced, known as Desolate Land, Primordial Sea and Delta Stream, which causes extremely harsh sunlight, heavy rain and air current. It is impossible to nullify any of them without another.
