I've given up on my plans to convert the city, I have. And so, I put my time into making door traps in my Gym. Oh? Now, what are you doing here? What's that? You say you've gotten past all my rigged doors? Wahahahah! Now, that is amusing! Then, I, Wattson, the Leader of Mauville Gym, shall electrify you!

-Wattson, Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald.

Wattson is the third Gym Leader of Mauville City in the Hoenn region who specializes with electric types. He will award the player the Dynamo Badge if you defeat him.

Appearance

He is a short, chubby old man with white hair that stands up and a white bread, He wears a yellow jumpsuit with a brownish thunder cloud short sleeve shirt. He also wears brown and yellow sandals.

Personality

He is overweight and old. However, he is a good inspiration on a new trainer. He is very good with electric type Pokémon, for example: his killer Magneton. He is full of spirit, and laughs at anyone's jokes. He is good at battling, but he is the one that can not make anyone laugh, though he is very caring. He also owns more electric Pokémon that he does not use. Wattson resides in Mauville City.

Trivia

• Wattson's name comes from the word WATT, which is a measurement of power in an electrical appliance. This is because he is an electric type trainer.
• After the defeat of Norman, Wattson will be standing in the middle of the city. He will be stressing out over the power plant which can be surfed to just down the road (New Mauville).
• In the games, Wattson was said to be the one who founded the Mauville City.
