This Rotom is an Electric/Ghost-type Pokémon owned by Volkner. In its first appearance, it appears as an Electric/-type Fan Rotom.
Biography[]
Rotom was sent out as one of Volkner's Pokémon while he was battling Ash in a World Coronation Series match. Due to its speed, it was able to keep up with Ash's Gengar, flying to the places it teleported to. During the battle between the two Pokémon, Rotom hit Gengar with a Thunder Wave and Hex combo, causing Gengar to faint. After Gengar was disqualified, Ash's Pikachu was sent out to try and stop Rotom's quick movement. It was caught in Electroweb and was nearly hit with Thunderbolt, though it was switched out for Volkner's Electivire in order to absorb the attack with its Motor Drive ability. Rotom was later sent out to fight after Ash's Lucario became paralyzed, hitting the Aura Pokémon with Hex. However, Lucario was able to use Reversal and quickly took Rotom out, leaving it fainted and unable to battle.[1]
