Vaniville Town is a small town in Kalos. It is the player character's hometown and is located at the southeast corner of the region. It is also the hometown of the player's two friends: Shauna and Serena (if the player is male) or Calem (if the player is female trainer).

After becoming the Champion, Shauna will appear in front of the player's house, available for a trade with an unevolved form of her starter Pokémon (i.e. the starter Pokémon weak to the player's) that she found in an Egg.

In the anime, Vaniville Town is Serena's and Shauna's hometown. Serena, however, left her hometown after she left to go on a journey.
Vaniville Town made its debut in Kalos, Where Dreams and Adventures Begin!. In the anime, Calem is not from Vaniville Town, and does not make an appearance in the anime.
Trivia[]
- Like Twinleaf Town in the Sinnoh region, the player does not receive their starter Pokémon in their hometown. Another similarity between the two is that the Pokémon games' female player character is the only one to reside in the anime version of the town.
- Vaniville Town is the only hometown that Ash Ketchum or his traveling companions didn't visit when they traveled through Kalos.
