Vanillite (Japanese: バニプッチ Banipucchi) is an Ice-type Pokémon introduced in Generation V.

Biology

Physiology

Vanillite is a small Pokémon that resembles an ice cream cone with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a head. Vanillite's head is covered with white snow that resembles a swirled scoop of vanilla ice cream. Beneath the snowy cover, Vanillite's head is made of the same icy material as its light blue, semi-translucent body. It is possible for the snowy material covering its head to melt if exposed to high temperatures. Vanillite has light blue ovular eyes with dark blue pupils, a small dark-blue mouth, and a diamond-shaped ice crystal on each cheek. Its small body is sprinkled with particles of ice, and has short icy arms. The cylindrical bottom part of its body resembles a small ice cream cone made of translucent bluish ice.

Natural abilities

Vanillite can create small snowstorms by producing ice crystals in the atmosphere with its freezing breath.

Evolution

Vanillite evolves into Vanillish at level 35 and then into Vanilluxe at level 47.

Trivia

  • Vanillite's name, like its evolutions, is a combination of the words "Vanilla," and possibly "Delight,". Similar to "Vanilla," and "Delish," for Vanillish, and "Vanilla," and "Deluxe," for Vanilluxe.
  • Vanillite is the same species as Glaceon, they're both the "Fresh Snow Pokémon".

Origin

Vanillite is based on a small ice cream cone.

Etymology

Vanillite's name is derived from "vanilla" and "delight", "lite", "petite" and possibly "stalactite". It also may include the word "light", as Vanillite is said to be brought to life by energy from the morning sun.
