Upper Hand is a fighting-type move introduced in Generation IX.
Description[]
Games | Description |
---|---|
SV | The user reacts to the target's movement and strikes with the heel of its palm, making the target flinch. This move fails if the target is not readying a priority move. |
Effect[]
Similar to Sucker Punch, Upper Hand only succeeds when the user is preparing an attacking move, though unlike Sucker Punch, this only applies to priority moves that have +1 to +3 priority (Upper Hand itself is +3), even if they're affected by abilities such as Gale Wings or Prankster. If Upper Hand connects, it flinches the opponent, much like Fake Out.
