The Ultra Ball (Japanese: ハイパーボール Hyper Ball) has a 100% higher chance to catch a Pokémon than a regular Poké Ball, and a 33% higher chance than that of a Great Ball. It has a catch multiplier of x2.

Appearance

This is a black ball with a yellow stripe. It has a black and yellow top, often with the yellow forming an "H" on the top of the ball. Like most other Balls, it has a white bottom area.

  • Gold and Silver: It is available at Blackthorn City at the Poké Mart​​​​​​ and Celadon City.

Generation III

  • Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald: It is available at all Poké Marts after earning 5 gym badges.
  • Fire Red and Leaf Green: It is available at all Poké Marts after earning 5 gym badges.

Generation IV

  • HeartGold and SoulSilver: It is available at Blackthorn City at the Poké Mart​​​​​​ and Celadon City.
  • Diamond and Pearl: They are available at all Poké Marts after you've earned 5 gym badges.

Generation V

  • Black and White: It is available at all the Poké Marts after earning 5 gym badges.
