Tyrogue (Japanese: バルキー Barukii) is a Fighting-type Baby Pokémon introduced in Generation II.

Biology

Physiology

Tyrogue is small, bipedal, humanoid Pokémon. His skin tone is purple in color with brown trunks and shoes. His appearance is similar to that of someone wearing an old football uniform.

Natural abilities

Tyrogue is one of the Pokémon that has three choices of what he can evolve into.

Evolution

Tyrogue can evolve into either Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, or Hitmontop depending on his Attack and Defense stats when he is leveled up to level 20 or higher.

  • Tyrogue is one of the very few Baby Pokémon that can evolve by leveling-up.
  • Tyrogue is the only Baby Pokémon with a branched evolution.
    • He is also the Baby Pokémon with the most evolutions (3).

Etymology

  • Tyrogue probably got his name from the words "Tyke" and "Rogue".
  • His Japanese name Balkie is a corruption of the English word "bulky".
