Effect

In battle

Trick switches the user's held item with the target's held item. If the user isn't holding an item, but the target is, the user will just take the target's held item. Prior to Generation V, Trick permanately switched held items with the target if it was a trainer's Pokémon. In a Double Battle, Trick can target any Pokémon around the user. In a Triple Battle, Trick can only target a Pokémon that's adjacent to the user.
