Tinkaton (Japanese: デカヌチャン, HepburnDekanuchan) (TIHNK-uh-tuhn[1]) is a Fairy/Steel-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IX. It is the evolved form of Tinkatuff and the final form of Tinkatink.

Compared to her previous form, Tinkaton's hair is now larger to the point that it nearly reaches the ground. While she still remains predominantly pink, her arms are now white sans her thumb, which is the same pink as her body. What makes her stand out even more compared to Tinkatuff is that the hammer it uses is now outrageously larger compared to herself.

Tinkaton is Corviknight's natural predator as it likes to use its massive hammer to launch rocks at flying Corviknight to knock them out of the sky.

Flying Taxi operators in Paldea to use Squawkabilly instead of Corviknight to avoid dangers and endangering the customers caused by Tinkaton.

Tinkaton also has been seen to sleep on their hammers like a bed.

Natural Abilities[]

Tinkaton is strong and it can effortlessly swing its 220-pound hammer just to knock out any Steel-type Pokémon with its signature move Gigaton Hammer.

Evolution[]

Tinkaton evolves from Tinkatuff starting at level 38.

    Trivia[]

    • Megumi Mizutani designed Tinkaton and its pre evolutions.[2]
    • Tinkaton's Base Stat Total of 506 is unique.
    • In pokedex the weight is written as 248.7 lbs. This is obviously a sum of her hammer and body weight, and unlike her previous evolution lines, we have information about the weight of hammer, this means that if you extract 220 pounds from her weight it will reveal that Tinkaton's body weight is 22.7 lbs.

    Origin[]

Tinkaton's design of being a petite girl with a giant hammer and female-only gender ratio may reference the media depictions of cute innocent little girls with giant/gigantic weaponry, such as Amy Rose from Sonic the Hedgehog. Correlating to its Fairy type, its also based on duendes, goblins and dwarves, the latter two of which are often portrayed as blacksmiths using iron tools and weapons, relevant as Tinkaton and its pre-evolutions: Tinkatink and Tinkatuff have blacksmith in their English/Japanese names.

It could also be inspired by Gremlins due to its habits disrupting/interfering flying type Pokémon such as Corviknight much like how Gremlins are portrayed in some posters.

    Etymology[]

    • Tinkaton's name is derived from Tinker, an itinerant blacksmith, and ton/gigaton, reflected in its giant hammer and signature move.
    • Its japanese name, Dekaunuchan, combines dekai(huge, referring to its hammer), kanuchi(blacksmith), and the honorific -chan, which is feminine in nature and used in informal contexts to refer to close ones.
