The Gathering of Stars (Japanese(ほし)(まつり)HepburnHoshi no Matsuritrans. Festival of Stars) is the 8th episode of Pokémon: Twilight Wings. It is a special episode to commemorate the release of The Crown Tundra, the second part of the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield Expansion Pass.

Synopsis[]

Leon heads to the Isle of Armor to meet with his former mentor, Mustard, and ask for his support. By gathering star Trainers from across Galar, he'll create a tournament unlike any other![1]

Episode plot[]

One day, the taxi driver flies in mid-air, pleased with the wind brushing his face. He tells Leon, the Champion, that they are about to arrive the destination, only to be corrected that he is now the "former" Champion. They soon arrive at the destination, where many Trainers and Pokémon live their lives, and are having fun. Leon bursts through a dojo's doors, where an old man awaits. Leon is glad, for he has encountered his master, and the two are happy that they have finally reunited after a long time.

As the taxi driver is taking a rest outside the dojo, an explosion occurs behind the building, shocking everyone on the island. Leon's Charizard and the old man's Mienshao are having a fierce battle, but the man commands to interrupt the battle. Leon and the old man both comment that the opposite have become much stronger. Leon believes he has still much to grow to become stronger. His master suggests that he should meet stronger rivals from now on, before he could go all-out on him in battle. Leon sees his master is right, as he holds a letter, whereas they are observed by a grey Pokémon. Leon announces he is off to find these stronger Trainers.

As Leon flies off, many Gym Leaders (including Nessa, Bea and many others) spend their time. This includes the white-haired boy, who promises to show "the power of pink", whereas his mentor recounts the time since she saw such progress. Elsewhere, the punk girl, as she is training, wants her brother to show them all, though he replies he "doesn't do encores". Sonia is looking for a book, when the "Wooloo" boy—her assistant—comes in to ask a question. However, he notices she is about to head off, whereas Sonia reminds him about her interview. Before going, she hands him a letter. Leon's sparring partner also has the letter, and is looking forward to the reunion, but counts someone else will be there, too. In his cab, Leon looks at his letter, and upon being asked by the driver where will they be headed next, he smiles.

On a train, as someone receives a call from Leon, two people pass by: one of them asks the girl, Peonia, to listen to her father, but she ignores him. The train passes by three specific Legendary Bird Pokémon, before continuing on to the mountains. At evening, the ceremony for another stadium battle starts. Leon gathers everyone's attention at the stadium. He lets it know he spent a lot of time yearning to become the best Trainer. As children at the hospital watch the broadcast, while Oleana has taken Chairman Rose's operations, Leon admits that there's nothing better than to clash with rivals. Thus, he announces a new wave of battles to Galar region, in form of the Galarian Star Tournament: Leon, his master, the Gym Leaders and others have joined to partake.

As the Champion enters the battlefield, Leon turns to them, daring them to have some amazing battles.
