Sylvester participated in the Battle Club tournament and faced Georgia, who sent Beartic against his Joltik. However, Joltik got defeated when Beartic fell down on top of it, causing Sylvester to lose.
Sylvester appeared in a flashback Ash had after the end of the Unova League.
