Swimmer is a Trainer class introduced in Generation I.
Description[]
Swimmers are a type of Trainer class that specializes in the use of Water-type Pokémon. They are athletes always found swimming in a body of water. All male swimmers wear goggles and swim caps. In the Generation IV games, the male Swimmers wear swim trunks, but wear speedos in the original Japanese games.
Female Swimmers are distinctly known as "Bikini Ladies" in Japanese, and they first appear in Generation II. In the Japanese version of Pokémon Gold Version and Pokémon Silver Version, female Swimmers are shown winking at the player.

Trivia[]
- In Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version, a Female swimmer asked, "Are you here to see Cynthia in a swim-suit?"
- It is likely that the male swimmers are based on characters from Mendel Palace, which had also been developed by Game Freak.
- Generation IX is the only generation so far to not include the Swimmer trainer class.
