Slowbro first appeared to stop a mischievous Aipom, by using Psychic. It was then thanked by Drew, as the way it used Psychic was beautiful.[1] It was then used in the second appeal round of the Kanto Grand Festival where it used Psychic to skate on its Shellder to utilize the entire stage, it followed by using Water Gun while on the tip on its Shellder to give off a fountain effect where the judges commented 'A beautiful well-balanced performance'. In the next round, Slowbro was used during the quarter-finals after Solidad's Lapras used Ice Beam to freeze a Girafarig and Zangoose. Slowbro then knocked them both out with a Hyper Beam.[2]
It then appeared in the final round of the Grand Festival alongside Solidad's Pidgeot where it faced off against May's Munchlax and Combusken. It used Psychic as the same in the appeal round balancing on its Shellder to deflect Munchlax's Focus Punch. It also used this same technique to dodge Munchlax's last attempt of a Solar Beam. It then used Yawn to put Combusken sleep and finally using Hyper Beam on Combusken to knock it out while Pidgeot finished Munchlax with Aerial Ace winning Solidad the Ribbon Cup.[3]
