Soft-Boiled, formatted as Softboiled before Generation VI, is a Normal-type move introduced in Generation I. It was TM41 in Generation I. After Generation I, it became the signature move of Chansey and Blissey. It is identical to Recover and Milk Drink.

Description

Games	Description

RSE	Recovers by up to half the user's maximum HP.
FRLG	Heals the user by up to half its full HP. It can be used to heal an ally.
DP	The user restores its own HP by up to half of its max HP. May be used in the field to heal HP.
PtHGSS	The user restores its own HP by up to half of its maximum HP. It may also be used to heal an ally's HP.
BWB2W2	The user restores its own HP by up to half of its maximum HP. May also be used in the field to heal HP.
XYORAS	The user restores its own HP by up to half of its max HP. May also be used in the field to heal HP.
SMUSUMPE	The user restores its own HP by up to half of its max HP.

Effect

In battle

Soft-Boiled restores the user's HP by up to the amount of HP that makes up half of its max HP. It will fail if the user's HP is full.

Outside of battle

Soft-Boiled can be used to restore the HP of another party Pokémon. However, the mechanics behind it is different, as it involves the user having to transfer its own HP in order to restore a target's. The user will transfer up to 20% of its own HP to the target. It will not work if the user has 20% or less of their max HP left.
