Snagging involves stealing another Pokémon Trainer's caught Pokémon. This can be done using a Snag Ball, which a Poké Ball can be converted into using a Snag Machine, and the process afterward is just like catching a wild Pokémon.
The main antagonists of Colosseum and XD, Team Snagem, are named for their act of snagging Pokémon from others so that they can convert the stolen Pokémon into Shadow Pokémon.
