Silk Scarf is an item introduced in Generation III.

Effect[]

Silk Scarf is a held item directly acting as a successor of the Polkadot Bow in the Generation II games, since both items increase the power of the user's Normal-type moves by ten percent. However, the Silk Scarf has an added function and side effect of increasing the holder's damage from Confusion by ten percent. As of Generation IV the power of the user's Normal-type moves has been doubled to twenty percent. In Generation IV only, the user's damage from Confusion is also doubled by twenty percent. By Generation V, this side effect was removed.
