The fifth season of the Pokémon anime, retroactively titled Pokémon: Master Quest by official sources, features the first 52 episodes (53, including banned episodes) from the Pokémon: Master Quest subtitle in which Ash Ketchum and his friends Misty and Brock's adventure through Johto from Cianwood City to Mt. Silver, ending off during the middle of the Larvitar arc and before the Johto League.
It is continued by Season 6, the second season of the Pokémon: Master Quest arc which includes the entirety of the Pokémon: Advanced arc. Re-releases of the series starting with the late 2016 addition of the series on Watch Disney XD extend it to 64 episodes (65, including the banned Jynx episode) to include the Season 6 portion of the Master Quest subtitle, ending with "Hoenn Alone!", which falls under the series Pokémon the Series: Gold and Silver.
