Seagallop FRLG

A scene of a Seagallop ferry traveling to one of the Sevii Islands

Seagallop refers to ferries that the player can use to travel between Sevii Islands and the Kanto region in Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version. They also appear in the Pokémon Adventures manga, where they resemble speedboats instead.

Description[]

Seagallop arrival

The Seagallop Hi-Speed of Bill's friend arriving at Cinnabar Island

All of these ferries are titled "Seagallop Hi-Speed" and have a distinct number at the end, depending on their destinations. Whenever the player goes on a Seagallop Hi-Speed, a short cutscene is shown of the ferry traveling across the water. If it is traveling right, the player is being taken to one of the Sevii Islands, and it travels left, if the player is being returned somewhere in the Kanto region.

The player can start to use Seagallop Hi-Speeds after they have earned the Volcano Badge from Blaine. When the player exits the Cinnabar Island Gym after receiving the badge, they encounter Bill, and then a Seagallop Hi-Speed ferry owned by his friend docks to the right of the island. Bill then gives the player the option to use the Seagallop Hi-Speed to travel over to One Island. If the player accepts the offer, they cannot return over to Kanto for a while.

Shortly after arriving on One Island, the player meets Celio, who gives them the Tri-Pass, allowing them to use the Seagallop Hi-Speed 2 to travel between One Island, Two Island, and Three Island only. After rescuing Lostelle in the Berry Forest on Three Island, the player can ride one of the Seagallop Hi-Speed ferries to return to Cinnabar Island after talking to Celio again. Additionally, the Seagallop Hi-Speed 7 ferry becomes docked in Vermilion City permanently, as an option to travel back to the Sevii Islands. However, the player is required to obtain HM01 (Cut) before they can embark it.

After becoming the Pokémon Champion, obtaining the National Pokédex, and delivering the Ruby to Celio, he gives them the Rainbow Pass, an upgrade over the Tri-Pass that allows the use of Seagallop Hi-Speed ferries to travel not only between the first three of the Sevii Islands, but also Four Island, Five Island, Six Island, and Seven Island. The reason why Celio gave a Rainbow Pass to the player is to help them find the Sapphire, located on Six Island.

With access to more of the Sevii Islands opened up, the player can also use a few more Seagallop Hi-Speed ferries along the way: Seagallop Hi-Speed 3 (Four or Five Island), Seagallop Hi-Speed 5 (Six or Seven Island), and Seagallop Hi-Speed 6 for any of the islands.

Besides the Tri-Pass and Rainbow Pass, there are two other Seagallop Hi-Speed tickets, the Mystic Ticket and Aurora Ticket, both of which are event items. These tickets each apply to a certain Seagallop Hi-Speed ferry only, with Seagallop Hi-Speed 10 taking the player to Navel Rock if they have the Mystic Ticket and Seagallop Hi-Speed 12 taking them to Birth Island if they have the Aurora Ticket.
