Scovillain (スコヴィラン, Sukoviran?) (SKOH-vil-lun[1]) is a Grass/Fire-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IX.
Biology[]
Physiology[]
Scovillain is a medium-sized humanoid Pokémon that resembles a sort of chili pepper. It has two heads each with a different color and facial expression; the left head is green and has a smile while the right head is red and has a scowl.
While most Scovillain have two different colored heads, there are rarer variants that have either two red or green heads, or a green right head and red left head.[2]
Behavior[]
Scovillain is able to process spicy chemicals within its two heads. However, there is a side effect from producing the chemicals. The red head releases the chemicals in the form of a fiery blast while the green head will cause Scovillain to go on a dangerous rampage.
Natural abilities[]
Through processing spicy chemicals within both heads, Scovillain can spit highly flammable and hot flames from the red head and flaming seeds from the green head, respectively.
Evolution[]
Scovillain evolves from Capsakid if it touches a Fire Stone.

Trivia[]
Origin[]
Scovillain is based on a chili pepper, with the red head being a ripe one and the green one being unripe. Its two heads resemble the Carolina Reaper, which was until October 2023 categorised as the spiciest chili pepper (until being overtaken by Pepper X) while also being based on a habanero (which is its Japanese Category). Scovillain might also be inspired by kaiju, or, like Hydreigon, the hydra. It also somewhat resembles a snapdragon plant due to its draconic and plant elements. Its faces could also be based loosely on sock and buskin masks.
Etymology[]
Scovillain is a portmanteau of Scoville (from the Scoville scale, a unit that measures the spiciness of a chili pepper) and villain.
