Samson Oak is a character first appearing in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon.

Samson is a tall man, who resembles Professor Oak; he has long gray hair, tanned skin and brown eyes. He wears a short-sleeved teal collared shirt, which is decorated with red Goldeen and several white circles. He also wears white shorts and blue flip-flops, as well as a watch on his left hand.

Etymology[]
The last name Oak could possibly originate from the "oak" tree.
His Japanese surname, Ookido, possibly comes from "orchid". His first name, Nariya, comes from nariya-ran, the Japanese name of the bamboo orchid.
