Chapter plot[]
Avery swings his head, bringing out his Slowbro. While others are impressed by Avery's psychic powers, Klara is annoyed that they both caught a Slowpoke when they arrived, yet his already evolved into a Slowbro. In spite, she asks Avery to throw the ball with his hand; Avery is stressed out when Marvin states how his previous throw was just flashy. Avery is devastated, for he heard these words during his childhood. However, Henry Sword has an idea: an Abra is far away, he proposes everyone throwing a Poké Ball to catch it, despite Klara's objection. As everyone tried to catch from their current location, only Avery was able to reach it. Henry points out using telekenisis lets Avery catch Pokémon that would run away quickly, or just fly in the air. Avery smiles, realizing for the first time in a while, he feels joy. He looks at Abra, promising he'll take care of it. Avery boasts that he'll use his ability to good use, and they could go tomorrow on their search. Klara is annoyed even more, while Marvin wonders if he could just change the weather, but Avery admits that's too much to ask.
Once they get back to the Master Dojo, Henry's long hair gets caught in the door. As there aren't any hairstylers on the island, Klara decides to style it herself, as she did her own hair. Henry, Casey and Marvin imagine Henry with Klara's hairstyle, to which Klara reminds she did also the students' hair. Henry lets her, and she makes his hair into a bun. Casey is so impressed that she wants hair like that too, to which Henry and Marvin remark that she doesn't hate everything. Mustard also offers a new outfit to go along with the haircuts for the trio, but Marvin doesn't want one. As Klara does Casey's hair, Casey believes the trio - Bede, Hop and Marnie - should've arrived by now at Crown Tundra. Meanwhile at Crown Tundra, Marnie is losing to Peony due to using Morgrem against Copperajah, who slams it with Heavy Slam. Peonia, Bede and Hop comment how Marnie is at a disadvantage and should've let someone else battle Peony. However, Marnie has anticipated the moment: Morgrem evolves into Grimmsnarl and easily defeats his opponent with Hammer Arm.
Peony falls down, and admits his defeat: he allows Peonia to go her own way, seeing how she's trying to be independent. He feels it is good he lost, to see her content. Bede suggests that they go on the exploration tour instead. Peony is surprised, but Bede remarks they could cross paths with Peonia. Hop is against this due to their mission, but Marnie remarks it could be a good idea. Peony exclaims they would go to Freezington to rent a lodge, to find the mysterious place in Crown Tundra. Marnie reminds they know nothing about this place, so they could assist Peony while find ingthe Rusted Sword and Shield as well as Henry Sword. Bede boasts that was what he was thinking about; Peony accepts their proposal, as long as Peonia is avsent. As an excited Peony leads them to Freezington, Marnie receives mail from Casey revealing to them that Henry was found.
The next morning, Marvin meets with Hyde. Marvin notes there is no mist about, but Hyde remarks that they need to go inside the forest, due to diffrent climates. Casey and Henry Sword arrive, surprising Hyde for their student outfits, and suggests they could remain here for training. Avery and Klara arrive as well, the latter surprising Henry that she's coming as well. Klara feels frustrated, thinking she will train hard as Avery did with evolving Slowbro. As they arrive to Soothing Wetlands, the group runs through, aiming to reach the Forest of Focus by avoiding battles with wild Pokémon. Casey uses her Vikavolt Drone to look for the sword and shield, but hasn't traced anything. Upon entering the Forest of Focus, they find themselves in lots of mist. Casey lets Avery use his powers, to which he reminds himself boasting about his ability even if he doesn't know how to find it. As Avery focuses himself, he gets attacked by an Amoonguss.
Suddenly, they are attacked by lots of Poison-type Pokémon: Henry Sword and Casey send Staffyn and Mega to thwart them. Kubfu observes the battles, and joins in to fight them. Thrilled, Kubfu continues fighting, and Klara goes in to stop the battle. By surprise, Kubfu hits Klara as well, as Casey reminds it is dangerous to just jump in the middle of the battle like that. Klara wanted to let them know that it is off that Poison-type Pokémon are here, for they are usually staying in the forest. Klara suggests that Pokémon are away from something, to which Casey and Marvin applaud her for trying to protect the Pokémon, a quality expected of a Gym Leader. Deep down, Klara merely thinks that she doesn't have any affinity for Poison-type, for the situation just seemed odd for her. Casey found the place the Poison-type Pokémon were running away from, to gather data. Henry turns around, and notices Kubfu kneeling in shame. The rest suspect that it wanted to be helpful, but got carried away by punching Klara. Klara and Avery mutter how Kubfu is reflecting its actions for the future, a cycle they are familiar with.
Casey detected the place where they should go to. Henry Sword lifts Kubfu, telling it they can continue, but should also be careful. As the group advances, they notice a number of wild Pokémon, who are poisoned. They reach the tree, from which these Pokémon drink the sap. Casey has Klara call "Miss Poison", and is told they need to get some amount of sap from that tree, released only on foggy mornings. Kubfu looks at its surroundings, as Casey harvests the sap. She goes to remove the capsule containing the sap, but then Kubfu snatches it.
