Synopsis[]
The battle against Eternatus reaches climax, with Zacian and Zamazenta dealing a blow. A bright flash is emitted, causing everyone to faint. With the battle over, the people count casualties, but notably, cannot find Zacizan, Zamazenta, Eternatus or even Henry.
Chapter plot[]
Henry is barely hanging on as the artifacts pull him towards Eternatus. Casey runs to him, but Sonia stops her, for Zacizan and Zamazenta use Giga Impact on Eternatus. In the impact, a bright light flashes. The rest of the Gym Leaders come to the power plant, witnessing this light. The group uses an elevator, finding everyone at the rooftop having fallen unconscious. The Gym Leaders see they are still breathing, so the Macro Cosmos employees call for a medical team to take them to the hospital. Marvin, however, notices that Henry has gone missing, and screams his name. Some time later, Magnolia and Opal are at Hammerlocke's hospital. They meet up with Marvin, who tells them that Sonia, Casey, Hop, Marnie and Bede were not hurt by this incident. Opal asks about the Gym Leaders, to which Marvin states that they all suffer injuries, and being struck by Eternatus' poison, they are still unconscious. He also states that due to Rose, Shielbert and Sordward starting this incident, they are being treated by hospital under the police watch, with Oleana at their side.
Since Sonia is waiting at Hammerlocke stadium's lobby, Marvin wants to take Magnolia to her. Opal, however, states she will look after the rest of the Gym Leaders. Magnolia is still happy to hear that everyone will recover, but Marvin has doubts about that, for they hear Casey screaming Henry's name. Meeting with Casey, Sonia and the Gym Leaders that survived, Magnolia is shocked to hear that Henry went missing. Hop remembers that Zacian and Zamazenta went to attack, which caused his disappearance when the right light was emitted. Marvin, Allister and Bea report that neither Henry, Eternatus, Zacian or Zamazenta are nowhere to be found. Magnolia reminds they could track him by his Rotom Phone, which makes Casey upset as to how she didn't think of this sooner. Hop, however, believes he just fell on the roof or a ditch.
Casey turns to the newsreports, for their Rotom Drone has footage of the event. The drone displays the video on the TV, and Casey asks of it to rewind a bit. Surprisingly to them, Henry disappeared before the flash of light. Casey is unsure what this means, while Marvin notes that he disappeared like an Abra. At Marco Cosmos' tower, the employees explain to Oleana that after Eternatus' disappearance, the Dynamaxed Pokémon calmed down, an the amount of Galar particles has been decreasing. They believe that Eternatus is recovering from the battle. The employees also report that Casey wants to see her. Oleana tells them to let her in, for she has Chairman Rose's permission, much to the employees' being reluctant. Inside, Casey is amazed to see this technology. Oleana lets her use the terminal, and is ready to do more if they need her. Marvin is a bit creeped out by how cooperative she is currently.
Casey tells Marvin that Marco Cosmos wants to find Henry, but also the Rusted Sword and Shield needed to defeat Eternatus. She tries to find information on geographics of Galar, so that Henry can be found. Marvin recounts from Sonia how Henry became possessive of the artifacts, for he only had their eyes on them since the event at Slumbering Weald. Marvin wonders if these were his true feelings; Casey reminds that Henry can be helpful but he also loses his head when it comes to "gears". She remarks while she is not defending him, there was something different about him so that he didn't want to part with these artifacts. Regardless, she reminds if he really would've liked to keep the artifacts, he could've abandoned her at the Slumbering Weald when her Pokémon went missing. It is to her conclusion that Henry wouldn't purposefully take advantage for his needs.
Oleana creeps on Marvin, startling him, as she wanted to ask if they wanted something to drink. Oleana points out that some of the trainers in the battle also experience confusion. Much like Raihan, Sordward and Shielbert, they all went in direct contact with Eternatus, while Henry was exposed more to its poison than others. Marvin sees that his symptoms have developed sooner than for the others. She also remarks how she spoke to someone wanting to become a Poison-type Gym Leader, and mentioned an expert in poisons called "Miss Poison", which she wants to contact in with to find more out. Casey turns around, thanking Oleana for trusting Henry. Oleana, however, brushes her off, reminding she merely shared facts, which is not worthy of gratitude. Casey turns to the terminal, going to analyze the data on poison from Raihan, and the metal from Rusted Sword and Shield, to get a precise location where Henry is located. In a mere moment, Casey is astounded that she has found a location, but is perplexed as to what this means.
Marnie comes into Hop's house. Hop greets her, but shakes his head, for Leon has not recovered yet. Marnie tells that her brother is still hurt, and is being treated by the doctors - much like Nessa and Melony. Hop also adds that Raihan's confused to the point he used a Full Heal on himself, but without any effect. The two also comment how Rose has resigned down as the chairman, and is being moved to the police hospital. Bede also wanted to meet the chairman, but he was refused entry, which only made him mad. Hop is sad, wondering what will happen to the Challenge Cup after all this. Marnie smiles, thinking if someone like Leon could become the chairman, they could continue the competition. Hop refuses his brother to take on the role, as he swore he would be the first one to defeat him. Marnie is surprised, for she didn't expect Hop to be so passionate about this. Marnie jokes she will be the first one, upsetting Hop a bit.
Their conversation is stopped, as they receive a call from Casey. Casey shouts out, startling Hop by the noise. Marvin takes the call, stating they found some clues on Rusted Shield and Sword, but need their help. Hop asks about Henry's whereabouts, but is told he is in "one of the places". Moments later, Casey explains to Marnie and Hop that they found the Rusted Shield and Sword in two places: one is on an isolated island and the other in a snow-covered region. However, she is uncertain which place has which artifact, or where Henry is in. Bede approaches them, telling that Henry might not be in either one of them. Hop is annoyed, telling Bede not to make Casey worry so much. Bede replies that he could've fallen into sea or buried under snow. Hop is furious, but Bede proposes to Oleana to make two parties to search for him. Oleana nods, and shows 5 tickets for Isle of Armor and 5 tickets for Crown Tundra.
