Shock!! Chairman Rose's Plan (Japanese: ヒリヒリ!! 委員長の計画, Hepburn: Hirihiri!! Iinchou no Keikaku, trans. Sting!! Chairman's Plan) is a chapter of Sword & Shield Chapter.
Synopsis[]
With the Darkest Day progressing, Rose has Sordward and Shielbert battle Eternatus. As they show the Rusted Sword and Shield, Eternatus starts attacking them. Due to the shift in their plan, Rose steps in to battle. While the group watches this, some of Casey's Pokémon are close to reuninting with their Trainer.
Chapter plot[]
Chairman Rose announces the success of his plan. Henry Sword steps in, questioning whether his goal was to harm the Galar region by summoning the calamity. Chairman Rose turns around in tears, sobbing as to how Henry could say that, a reaction that startles the group. Chairman Rose reminds that his goal was to protect Galar region from the incident that should happen a 1000 years from now on. Piers points out that Dynamaxed Pokémon are on a rampage, and Leon reminds that Sonia's life was threatened, to fulfill Chairman Rose's goal. Rose admits his mistake that threatning Sonia was not honorable, and it was his fault that she spied in on their conversation. However, he shows a screen, where his employees - the Macro Cosmos - are doing their best to battle the Dynamaxed Pokémon. Rose reminds Henry that they have met them already, when Marvin captured Dracovish. Casey remembers that moment, to which Henry realizes their cover was blown. Rose looks at his watch, seeing it is time, and asks of others to cheer on to the heroes. Leon attempts to grab him, but his hand passes through Rose.
The group realizes that this is Rose's hologram. They point his fingers through him, as Rose explains that he cannot have them interrupt the plans, involving Sordward and Shielbert. Sonia asks of Rose whether Sordward and Shielbert are really the royal descendants. Rose sees why they can doubt that, since sources of their origins have not been published. Sonia sees there could be some evidence of that present, to which Rose states that it is more that the royal family has prevented such sources from being published, and have been hiding it in secret, much like the mural on Stow-on-Side. Before they could continue, the Rotom Drone broadcasts the battle between Sordward and Shielbert against Eternatus. The two have Golisopod and Bronzong use Mud Shot and Extrasensory. The group admits they are fighting well, and, due to the moves having some effect, believe Eternatus is a part Poison-type Pokémon. However, Eternatus uses Flamethrower, defeating both Pokémon, which make them wonder if it is a Fire-type as well.
Raihan attempts to call the elevator, but fails. He explains that they have been shut in, and, since using moves to break out do not work (for he attempted that as a child), he believes that Rose and the duo are trying to keep Eternatus locked in. He wonders if there is a path for some Pokémon to move around. Casey attempts to connect to the computer to activate a hologram, so they could ask for help, but she is unable to succeed in that. Piers finds it sad, since they can't ask for outside help. Hop urges his brother, Leon, to search for a way out, since they can't just stand and wait. Leon, however, is examining Eternatus, wanting to get more information about how it battles. He slaps his face, keeping his focus to watch its movements and reactions, not just moves. Hop does the same, making Sonia smile at the brothers. Melony reminds that this isn't a battle they can lose, for Galar region could be endangered, and they can't ask for a rematch, either.
Near the top of the power plant, Rose, who is watching the battle, receives a call from Oleana. The latter explains that, while the number of Galar particles is increasing, they still don't have enough. They don't know the cause of this, and she receives reports it will take three to five times longer than they have originally planned to get the desired amount. Rose asks about other reports, to which Oleana states how the Darkest Day is different than what the tapestries have depicted it, noting it must've been a simple depiction of the event. Oleana wonders if Eternatus will evolve so they could receive the necessary amount of energy. Rose thanks Oleana and ends the call. He then turns to Sordward and Shielbert, stating that Eternatus hasn't gotten serious about battling. The duo is angry at Rose looking down at them, and declare that they, as true celebrities, will end the Darkest Day. The two show the Rusted Sword and Shield to Eternatus, who becomes still. The duo laughs, exclaiming that they will bring judgement upon Eternatus by using these artifacts.
However, nothing else happens. The duo finds it odd, for, according to the legend, the sword and shield should transform into the majestic artifacts, as they are depicted in Budew Drop Inn. Suddenly, Eternatus swings its tail, striking Sordward and Shielbert, who are knocked down. The brothers start bleeding and aching from this attack, while Eternatus swings its tail for another attack. Sordward and Shielbert use the artifacts to defend themselves, but fail and are tossed away, falling down from the tower, with their Poké Balls dropping down. Suddenly, a Ferrothorn grabs them, preventing them from falling. Rose admits he felt this could have happened. He scolds Sordward and Shielbert for tearing the tapestry and hiding the sculpture with the mural, wondering how much of history they tried to falsify. The duo gasps, beliving Rose betrayed them so he could watch their downfall. Rose denies this, for he, too, wanted them to succeed, showing their heroism they lied so much about. He calls Oleana to switch to plan B: he approaches Eternatus and uses his Dynamax Band, summoning his Gigantamax Copperajah.
The two Poké Balls under Sordward and Shielbert's possession fall into the moat and open, summoning Casey's Mega and Giga. The two Pokémon think about Casey and her Pokémon, so they disperse. Bede's Pokémon, who is looking around, senses something through the pipe system. Giga and Mega find a grate, to which the latter grasps and pries it open for them to cross through. At Postwick, near the Slumbering Weald, there is an island near the altar where Henry Sword and Casey first encountered Sordward and Shielbert. Suddenly, that island starts to flash with an intense light. Back at the powerplant, Casey, Piers and Marnie notice the elevator working. Coming from it is Oleana, whose presence intimidates their Pokémon: she comes asking for people's help.
