Ryme is a dark-skinned middle-aged woman with white hair with braids; the front is braided into a skeletal hand, while the back is braided into a ribbon. She has wrinkles, green eyes; her eyelids and the bottom part of her lips are painted gold. She wears a black jacket with gold trim on the outside and completely gold on the inside. She wears a golden necklace, golden Poké Ball-themed earrings and a black baseball cap worn the opposite way with a gold closure on it. She also carries a microphone that has gold trim on it.
Personality[]
Ryme is a rapper who enjoys getting the audience fired up with both battles and rapping. However, she is also quick to anger, wanting to prove the power of Ghost Pokémon to Geeta and having no one to compete against in a rapping battle.
Ryme is also a fair and just person. While she gives her opponents the chance to have a good fight with her, she won't hesitate to lecture them about their weaknesses for the sake of motivating them to improve.
Etymology[]
Ryme's name appears to be based on the word "rhyme", as she is a rap artist and rhyming is commonly used in songs and rap battles.
Biography[]
Having overheard Roy's singing for his Wattrel, Ryme approached the boy and his two Pokémon, as she was interested in them. She then encouraged Wattrel with her rapping. Upon noticing the fleeing Capsakid from the day earlier, Ryme deduced that the Capsakid was intimidated by something from within the forest. She then left after rapping in front of Fuecoco, before Roy could ask her to let him take a photo of her Houndstone.[1]
After watching Roy's battle against MC Sledge and rapping skills, Ryme agreed to challenge Roy to a battle. However, after seeing how Roy believed his singing with Fuecoco was all about victory and his failure against her, Ryme didn't let Roy pass his implementation test, since she knew that he wasn't unleashing his full potential.[2]
