This Kilowattrel is an Electric/ -type Pokémon owned by Roy.
Personality[]
Originally, Kilowattrel, as a Wattrel, was wary and hostile towards Roy and Fuecoco. It also was extremely afraid of heights. However, it becomes more affectionate towards both Roy and Fuecoco after they helped it to overcome its fear of heights. It's determined to be able to soar high one day.
Due to mostly being in solitude prior to being capture, Wattrel originally struggles to socialize with others, such as Fuecoco, and gets irritated and jealous at them easily for taking away Roy's attention for it. However, Wattrel becomes friendlier after spending and training with Fuecoco and Roy, feeling more comfortable as part of the team.
After evolving, Kilowattrel has become more confident of itself, and also friendlier to others.
Biography[]
As Wattrel[]
Wattrel encounters Roy and Fuecoco, after it steals their sandwich. Roy and Fuecoco share another sandwich with Wattrel, only for Wattrel to steal both halves of the sandwich. Roy notices Wattrel isn't accompanying its flock, and decides to check on it.[1]
Later, Roy and Fuecoco finds out that Wattrel is actually fearful of heights, so they spend time with Wattrel to earn its trust and teach it how to fly. In order to finally encourage it to fly, Roy borrows Ludlow's fishing rod, as a means to support Wattrel midair and prompt it to fly. After mustering its courage, Wattrel is finally able to fly for the first time to join its flock. However, Wattrel, having bonded with Roy, no longer wants to leave Roy behind, so it decides to fly toward Roy, whom it wants to stay with. Wattrel is suddenly caught off-balance with a strong gust of wind and almost crash-lands, but Roy used the Poké Ball Murdock gives him to catch and save Wattrel, who subsequently joins Roy's team happily.[2]
After Roy struggles against Spinel's Magneton, he brings out Wattrel to battle with Fuecoco. Roy commands Peck and Ember for it and Fuecoco simultaneously, but after Wattrel jumps on Fuecoco's head and Wattrel is forced to dodge an Ember itself, they fight each other after Spinel's Magneton is defeated, causing Roy to break up the fight. Spinel sends out an Umbreon, which the Pokémon struggle against. That battle is soon aborted after Liko requests and successfully retrieves the pendant.[3]
Roy finds an annoyed Wattrel attacking his own Pokemon on the bridge after Fuecoco blocks him out of sunlight, calling for a truce, but ends up ignoring Wattrel, causing it to Uproar and him to block his ears. The altercations continue at feeding time when Wattrel was uncomfortable with Fuecoco's eating habits, causing Roy to intiate another discussion with them, which ends up again with him ignoring Wattrel causing him to Uproar. Soon, he follows Roy after he overhears a battle between Charizard and Captain Pikachu, inviting the trio to watch Friede's Pokemon, excited after watching Cap. Wattrel takes part in a two-on-one battle with Captain Pikachu, during which it learns the new move Spark. The battle ends in defeat as the two Pokemon collide with each other while attempting to sandwich Cap with Spark and Tackle, with Cap jumping off at the right time, causing both of his Pokemon to faint and another altercation between them to take place, until news of 'a lot of turbulence' comes in. As soon as the storm comes in, Wattrel gets blown away, trying to hold on to the rail with his beak, but is rescued by Roy. Fuecoco warns of an incoming large twig, but Wattrel goes for it head on and breaks it with Spark, leaving Roy awestruck. After Roy and his Pokemon make it inside safely, followed by a discussion with Dot about how Wattrel generates power, Roy gets an idea and sets off with his two Pokemon to practice their "Special Training Time", during dinner-time. The next day, Wattrel joins Roy in requesting Friede to initiate another battle against Friede's Cap, which they accept, but this battle ends with his Pokemon defeated once again after Wattrel was hit by Cap's Thunder Punch.[4]
When the Ancient Poké Ball gets stolen by Tepen, Roy sends out Wattrel to battle against Tepen's Pokémon, only for Wattrel to get hypnotized to sleep during the battle.[5]
During Roy's battle with Chalce, Roy deploys Wattrel to battle against her. Although Wattrel succeeds in knocking off Chalce's Ultra Ball, it is soon overwhelmed by Chalce's Medicham. Roy compliments Wattrel for its efforts, before returning it into its Poké Ball.[6]
Wattrel would help Dot with her windmill by providing Dot with its own body's generated electricity to facilitate her craft's operation.[7]
Wattrel is still unable to fly probably due to its fear of heights. So when it sees Fuecoco knocking a berry down from a tree using Flame Charge, Wattrel tries to fly up to the tree, but the wind is too strong for it to fly up there and causes it to call. This causes Wattrel to become jealous of Fuecoco, and tries to pick a fight with him.
Later, when Roy attempts to help a wild Capsakid who has gotten itself trapped near a cliff edge of the waterfall, Wattrel flew over to rescue the Capsakid, which it successfully does so. However when Roy tries to climb back up the cliff, the wind picks up and the force of the wind knocks Roy off the cliff, causing him to fall towards the water below. Desperate to save Roy from his upending demise, Wattrel frantically flies down as fast as it can to rescue its Trainer, and in doing so, Wattrel manages to save him at the last second by evolving into a Kilowattrel.[8]
As Kilowattrel[]
After evolving, Kilowattrel beings Roy to safety, and is thanked by a grateful Roy. Kilowattrel then lets Fuecoco ride on its back that evening, their bond with each other and Roy becoming stronger.[8]
Kilowattrel is sent out by Roy at Glaseado Mountain to find firewood, and later to help him find the lost Fuecoco.[9]
Kilowattrel is used by Roy during his battle with Liko during the Course Students Battle Tournament. It succeeds in defeating Liko's Hattrem, but is later overpowered by Floragato. [10]
