The Project Mew Logo.
Project Mew is a special research project in which different Trainers are recruited from around the Pokémon world to find Mew and collect genes of various Pokémon. Goh decided to participate in Project Mew in order to achieve his dream of catching Mew.
Description[]
Objective[]
Professor Amaranth and the official members of Project Mew are striving to locate Mew in order to learn more about the origins of Pokémon.
Members[]
The Chaser rank is the highest one may get in Project Mew. Danika and Quillon are the first two Chasers to arrive, and their job is to distribute missions and evaluate the success of other Project Mew members.
Trainers are a type of character in Project Mew who are given challenges and must fulfill them through Trial Missions. They are known as Challengers, and the three Challengers with the most Tokens at the end of the Chaser selection will become Chasers. In PJ113, Goh, Gary, and Horace all qualify as Chasers.
List of known Challengers[]
Trainer | Tokens |
---|---|
Gary | 15 |
Horace | 11 |
Goh | 10 |
Lyla | 9 |
Shunya | 8 |
Trial Missions[]

A "Project Mew" token.
A challenger must complete a mission set to them as part of the initiation procedure, and they must complete it within a particular time frame. They will be permitted to participate in Project Mew as a Challenger after completing this objective.
A Trainer must complete specific Trial Missions in order to continue participating in Project Mew. When a Trainer takes on Trial Tasks, he or she is given a list of three missions split by color and must complete just one of them. The Trainer will receive a special token on their Rotom Phone as verification after the mission objective has been completed and validated. The challengers with the most tokens became Chasers, while those with less than four tokens were instantly dismissed during the selection process.
During assessments, a Challenger might earn more Tokens than others based on how well they do during the mission, as well as demonstrating qualities like leadership and teamwork. A Corviknight verifies the goods gathered during Trial Missions, and some missions that entail fighting are filmed by a drone.

History[]
The research project was first introduced to Ash and Goh by Professor Oak when they visited his laboratory. There, they also learned that Gary Oak was involved in the project and helped him battle a wild Moltres to collect one of its feathers. [1]
Goh later received an email from Project Mew stating that he would be accepted into the project after previously wanting to join. He and Ash went to Mt. Coronet for their first mission: capturing an Alolan Ninetales that was in the area. With the help of Quillon and Ash, Goh was able to complete his first Trial Mission and was accepted into the group by Professor Amaranth, the project's leader.
