Professor Telesu and his daughter, Alice, were traveling with Alice's Slowpoke, Arthur, as they discovered a prophecy that a Slowking would lead the fellow Slowpoke from a drought. He witnessed as Arthur used the King's Rock and a Shellder bit it, then evolved into Slowking, who revealed a secret passage and led the Slowpoke to paradise.
