Professor Laventon is the regional Professor of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, situated in the Hisui region. He is likely from the Galar region and also associated with the Galaxy Team. He bears a resemblance to the modern-day Galar champion Leon and his brother Hop, suggesting that they are related.

Laventon is a middle-aged man with dark skin, lavender eyes and black hair. He has a stubble mustache, wears a purple and white hat with a pom-pom on the top, a white labcoat with the Galaxy Team emblem, a purple shirt with white collar and cuffs, black bow tie, brown vest and matching striped trousers and brown boots.
Personality[]
Laventon is a generally friendly and welcoming hardworker, hoping to give his best to create the very first Pokédex of Hisui. He is able to connect with strangers like the player rather quickly due to having travelled to Hisui from his faraway home region himself, and has much trust in the player. Despite his diligence, he can be somewhat of a scatterbrain, and occasionally has difficulty to interact with the Pokémon he is trying to research of.
Etymology[]
His name is derived from "lavender", a cash crop that was imported from Europe to Hokkaido during the Meiji period.

Professor Laventon first appeared at the beginning of the game where he first finds the player watched up on the beach near Jubilife Village with the Rowlet, Cyndaquil, and Oshawott in his care.

- In non-English versions of "Legends: Arceus", his dialogues are scattered with English vocabularies.
- His chalkboard inside the Galaxy Team's building is written with Galarian characters.
- He mentioned Copperajah in the Pokédex entry of Raichu, which is known to be a common Pokémon in Galar despite not being a native species there. However, this could also suggest that he is from the Pokémon world's equivalent of India and moved to Galar, since Copperajah is not native to Galar and is implied to be from the Pokémon world's equivalent of India (this reflects real-world British colonial influence in India).
- He was surprised to see a normal Kantonian Ponyta, indicating that the Ponyta he had witnessed in his home region is notably different from other regions'.
- The chimney that connects to his boiler inside his Galaxy Team room's building exterior is shaped like a Galarian Weezing's.
- It is heavily implied that Laventon is an ancestor of Leon and Hop. The fact that his hat seems to depict a crown may be a reference to the crown emblem on the brim of Leon's hat.
- Laventon is depicted on a painting in Paldea's Naranja Academy/Uva Academy during the introductory scene of Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. He is also shown on the same screen whenever the player is attending Raifort's history lessons.
