Powder (Japanese: ふんじん, Hepburn: Dust) is a Bug-type move introduced in Generation VI.

Description

Games	Description
XYORAS	The user covers the target in a powder that explodes and damages the target if it uses a Fire-type move.
SMUSUM LA	The user covers the target in a combustible powder. If the target uses a Fire-type move, the powder explodes and damages the target.
BDSP SV	This move can’t be used. It’s recommended that this move is forgotten. Once forgotten, this move can’t be remembered.

Effect

Powder only works when the opponent uses a Fire type move on Pokémon. The user then attacks first, hits the target and makes the move not to hit. If the targeted Pokémon attempts to use a Fire-type move, it will take 25% damage based upon their maximum HP instead of using the move.

However, if the targeted Pokémon uses a move that would thaw themselves, such as Flame Wheel, the user is still thawed but the move does not execute on the user or its allies.

This move does not work against Grass-type Pokémon, Pokémon with the ability Overcoat, and any Pokémon holding the item Safety Goggles.
