Pound is a Normal-type move that was introduced in Generation I and many Pokémon can learn it at a low level. The user pounds the opponent with their tail, legs, body, etc.
Effect
Pound inflicts damage and has no secondary effect.
Pound can be used as part of a Pokémon Contest combination, causing Double Slap, Feint Attack and Slam to give two extra appeal points if used in the next turn.
Description
The target is physically pounded with a long tail or a foreleg, etc.
In the Super Smash Bros. Series
Pound is Jigglypuff's side special move (Neutral in the original). It is used as Jigglypuff's primary recovery method as Sing (its Up special) doesn't help it gain any height.
Trivia
- Pound is the first move in the Move Index.
- When Secret Power is used in the Distortion World (Giratina's home dimension) in Platinum, Pound's animation is used.
