Potions are a type of item introduced in Generation I.
Description[]
Potions are healing items that restore a Pokémon's HP. They are sprays that are intended to spray liquid to the wound. In the core series, the player can use a Potion by selecting it from their Bag and applying it to a Pokémon for immediate effect. Potions can be used both inside and outside of a Pokémon battle.
Potions are usually obtained by purchasing them at a Poké Mart, although Potions also appear on the ground or can be hidden throughout the player's journey.

There are four different types of potions, each restores a certain amount of HP, but the exact number sometimes changes between appearances. There are four types of Potions, each restoring more HP than the previous: standard Potion, Super Potion, Hyper Potion, and Max Potion.

Potions have appeared in some episodes of Pokémon the Series, in which they are used the same way as in the core series. Some characters use Potions to heal minor scratches on Pokémon, especially Brock, although the use of Pokémon Centers has always been more common.
