Our Story Thus Far…[]
In Vaniville Town in the Kalos region, X was a Pokémon Trainer child prodigy. But now he's depressed and hides in his room avoiding everyone—including his best friend Y. An attack on their hometown of Vaniville Town by Legendary Pokémon Xerneas and Yveltal, led by Team Flare, forces X outside… Now he and his closest childhood friends—Y, Trevor, Tierno and Shauna—are on the run!
Trouble arises in Santalune City when Shauna is mind-controlled by Team Flare scientist Celosia! Fortunately, X and a new ally, Shalour City Gym Leader Korrina, defeat Celosia and free Shauna. Now our friends must move on to the next town, with Team Flare in hot pursuit… Where will they end up next and what will befall them there…? X has a ring that Mega Evolves Pokémon and Team Flare wants to steal it! On their journey through Lumiose City, Route 5, and Camphrier Town, X adds a Chespin (Marisso) to his official team, as well as a Charmander (Salamè) and a Manectric (Élec) who Mega Evolves. With the help of a computer technician named Cassius, our friends continue on their way…!

Y and X arrive at the scene of Team Flare's next crime—before it's committed! Team Flare is planning to use the kidnapped people of Vaniville Town to transport a huge tree containing Legendary Pokémon Xerneas to the site of their Ultimate Weapon… A great battle ensues involving Mega Evolution!

- Y - X's best friend in the group, and, a Sky Trainer trainee. Her full name is Yvonne Gabena.
- Trevor - One of the five childhood friends. A quiet boy who hopes to hopes to become a Pokémon Researcher one day.
- Tierno - One of the five childhood friends. A big boy with an even bigger heart. He is currently training to become a dancer.
- Shauna - One of the five childhood friends. Her dream is to become a Furfrou groomer. She is quick to speak her mind.
