The Inactivity protocol compiles a set of procedures in which a user's rights are taken away due to inactivity, and a separate set of procedures in which a user can regain them to establish regular activity.

Criteria for activity

Rollbacks, Content-Mods and Admins

Users with Rollback, Administrator and Content-Moderator user-rights are required to follow the activity protocol to be considered regularly active, in which otherwise a demotion may be performed by a bureaucrat:

  • At least 3 separate days (24-hour periods) of any of the following within a period of 366 days (1 leap year):
    • At least 1 recorded log of the following performances: Deletions, Blocks, or Protections)
    • At least 1 edit to any namespace (Excluding Userpage).
    • At least 1 discussion post.
    • At least 1 message.
    • At least 1 reported post/moderator action (Due to technical restrictions, the logs listed at Special:Insights can only be displayed to a maximum of 90 days).

Thread-Moderators

Users with Thread-Moderator user-rights are required to follow the activity protocol to be considered regularly active, in which otherwise a demotion may be performed by an administrator:

  • At least 3 separate days (24-hour periods) of at least one of the following within a period of 180 days (approximately 6 months):
    • At least 3 discussion posts.
    • At least 3 messages on other user's walls, excluding messages created by yourself on your own wall.
    • At least 1 reported post/moderator action (Due to technical restrictions, the logs listed at Special:Insights can only be displayed to a maximum of 90 days).

Re-application

Rollback, Content-Mods and Admins

Rollback users have no restrictions, and the rights can be granted by both Administrators and Bureaucrats. Administrators and Content-Moderators will need to showcase the following to regain trust from Bureaucrats to re-instate rights, in which afterwards, a discussion regarding a final decision will take place on the Administrative Council Post:

  • At least 3 separate days (24-hour periods) of at least one of the following within a period of 21 days (3 weeks):
    • 10 article edits on at least 2 different article pages.
    • At least 3 discussion posts.

Thread-Mods

Thread-Moderators will need to showcase the following to regain trust from Administrators to re-instate rights, in which afterwards, a discussion regarding a final decision will take place on the Discussions Council Post:

  • At least 3 separate days (24-hour periods) of at least one of the following within a period of 21 days (3 weeks):
    • At least 3 discussion posts.
    • At least 3 messages/message replies on other user's walls, excluding messages created by yourself on your own wall.
    • At least 2 reported posts.
