Summary of events so far
A story about young people entrusted with Pokédexes by the world's leading Pokémon researchers. Together with their Pokémon, they travel, do battle, and evolve!
Some place in some time… a young Trainer named Black, who dreams of winning the Pokémon League, receives a Pokédex from Professor Juniper and sets off on his training journey to collect the Gym Badges he needs to enter next year's Pokémon League. On the way, he meets White, the owner of a Pokémon talent agency, and ends up working for her.
Black is attacked by N, the King of Team Plasma, whose ideal is to "liberate" Pokémon from their Trainers. Black wins his first Gym Badge. and then, in order to fulfill both their dreams, Black and White set out for their next destination…[2]

- Black - A Trainer whose dream is to win the Pokémon League. A passionate young man who, once he sets out to accomplish something, can't be stopped. He also does his research and plans ahead. He has special deductive skills that help him analyze information to solve mysteries.
- White - The President of BW Agency. Her dream is to develop the careers of Pokémon stars. She takes her work very seriously and will do anything to support her Pokémon actors.
- Cheren - Black's childhood friend. A kind, serious boy. He heads out on his Pokémon Journey with Snivy!
- Bianca - Black's childhood friend who likes to take things at her own pace. She departs on her training journey, with Oshawott!
- N - The King of Team Plasma, who has the ability to hear the voices of Pokémon.
- Ghetsis - A Team Plasma executive and the Leader of the Seven Sages, he is leading rallies and making speeches all over Unova urging trainers to set their Pokémon free.
