Froslass was the fifth Pokémon that Paul used to battle Ash in the Sinnoh League, facing Ash's Pikachu. Froslass used Hail, triggering her Snow Cloak Ability to disappear in the mist. Froslass was able to execute attacks on Pikachu, who failed to hit her with Thunderbolt. Froslass fired an Ice Shard to hit Pikachu, taunting it even more, causing it to miss using Volt Tackle. Froslass went to use another Ice Shard, but Pikachu bounced off and hit her with Iron Tail. Froslass fired Ice Beam to freeze Pikachu. As she went to defeat Pikachu, the latter broke free and used Volt Tackle, defeating Froslass.[1]
To mark her defeat in the battle, Froslass' picture was blackened out on the scoreboard.[2]
