The three Paldea starter Pokémon: Sprigatito (Right), Quaxly (Middle), Fuecoco (Left)

The Paldea Starter Pokémon can be picked out of three Pokémon that the player character will obtain in his or her journey which cannot be found in the Paldea region itself. The Pokémon in question are:

• Sprigatito, the grass type which evolves into Floragato, then to Meowscarada which grants it the additional type of Dark.
• Fuecoco, the fire type which evolves into Crocalor, then to Skeledirge which grants it the additional type of ghost.
• Quaxly, the water type which evolves into Quaxwell, then to Quaquaval which grants it the additional type of fighting.

Paldea first partner Pokémon in the anime.

Unlike the Scarlet and Violet games, it is unknown if any beginning Trainer who originated in Paldea can receive one of the first partner Pokémon in Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly from Clavell. However, a school was shown to give one of them to a beginning Trainer who is a student. Also, a Pokémon Professor did give one of them to beginning Trainer.

• Liko's Sprigatito.
• Roy's Fuecoco.

• Liko received Sprigatito as her first Pokémon from the Indigo Academy, which later evolved into Floragato.
• Roy catches Fuecoco that belonged to the Rising Volt Tacklers as his first Pokémon, which later evolves into Crocalor.

Dot/Nidothing's Quaxly.

• Dot/Nidothing catches a Quaxly that belong to the Rising Volt Tacklers as her first Pokémon partner, which later evolves into Quaxwell.

Trivia

• Hisui's and Paldea's first partner Pokémon gain the same secondary types final evolutions. Hisuian Decidueye and Quaquaval both gain the Fighting type, Hisuian Typhlosion and Skeledirge both gain the Ghost type, and Hisuian Samurott and Meowscarada both gain the Dark type.
• Quaxly is the First partner Pokémon that isn't native to Paldea, due to migrating to Paldea from faraway places and distant lands a long time ago.
• Quaxly also has a first type, which means that there is no additionality until evolving into (insert quaxlys next evolution.)
