Episode plot[]
Ash, Misty and Brock are walking and notice a Delibird flying by. Brock mentions it is very rare to see one around here. Latias, while invisible, watches. As Team Rocket slowly walks on the path feeling hungry, Delibird lands in front of them as James recognizes it from their Headquarters. Delibird takes out boxed lunches from its bag and offers them to Team Rocket as they chow down while Jessie asks about seconds. Delibird has something else in mind and takes out ten Poké Balls from its bag, releasing Yanmega, Seviper, Woobat, Frillish, Gourgeist, Mime Jr., Yamask, Inkay, Amoonguss and Carnivine, the Pokémon Team Rocket had from different regions and left at their headquarters. Jessie and James are happy to see their Pokémon again while Meowth and Wobbuffet are touched about this reunion.
Delibird takes out a Giovanni golden statue, as the real Giovanni contacts Team Rocket through it. He informs them about their Pokémon that was send to the headquarters and advises to take charge to manage them. The trio agrees as the statue explodes. As Delibird leaves, Team Rocket thanks it for everything and tells it to give their regards to Giovanni. Meowth suggests about using the Pokémon to prove their worth to Giovanni. Jessie and James daydream about the Pokémon they used to have: Weezing, Arbok, Victreebel, Dustox, Lickitung, Chimecho, Cacnea, Mareanie, and Mimikyu.
As Meowth wonders if they're doing okay, Jessie and James decide to use their graduated Pokémon and repay Giovanni's kindness, by catching their enemy and main target, Pikachu. Meowth declaring they'll be named the Team Rocket Revengers, while Jessie, James and their Pokémon agree to that. James volunteers for the operation plan while discussing it with Mime Jr. as Jessie wants to hear the idea.
As Ash and his friends walk, Mime Jr. comes out through the bushes and looking worried. Pikachu walks up to it as he realizes it's one of Team Rocket's Pokémon. Ash asks what's up with Mime Jr. as Misty thinks it needs help while Brock thinks that Pikachu is cautious of it. As Mime Jr. falls to Ash's arms, it looks teary-eyed. Ash tells Pikachu they should help it, but Pikachu is still a little skeptical. A flashback show James doing a wobbly pose with Mime Jr. and have their foes convinced the latter to trust it while acting that it's being chased by Team Rocket while doing a crying pose as part of his plan.
Back in the present, the teary-eyed Mime Jr. looks at Pikachu while the latter, feeling sad at first, decided to help the former. But before anything can happen, Team Rocket appears as they do their motto. Misty asks what they want as James becomes devastated that Mime Jr. is nice when it used to be bad. Misty is confused about this while Ash recognized that Mime Jr. is Team's Rocket's Pokémon as Brock figured out Pikachu's wary of it. Jessie angrily mentioned that Mime Jr. betrayed the team and goes to find Officer Jenny as Meowth mentioned Mime Jr. is a disgrace to villains everywhere and informs the group to hand Mime Jr. over. As Ash refuses, Team Rocket tells him to stay out of this as they don't forgive traitors and plans to catch and sentenced it to Chaotic Scratches.
As Mime Jr. feels threatened, Pikachu uses Thunderbolt, sending Team Rocket blasting off as they vow to come back to get Mime Jr. Brock states they have to hurry to Officer Jenny, but started to charm Mime Jr. while telling it that he did everything to protect it, only to get Poison Jabbed by Croagunk while Misty pulls his ear. Brock mentioned he was trying to dream, but Misty tells him he can do that while sleeping as he falls down. Ash tells Mime Jr. they'll go to the meetup spot as it points straight ahead.
As Ash and friends run, an Energy Ball appears as an Amoonguss shows up, followed by Yanmega who used Steel Wing as the others avoid it. The flashback shows Team Rocket about their plan: with Mime Jr. earning their foes' trust, their Pokémon will separate them one by one. Back in the present, Amoonguss uses Spore, but Brock brings out Ludicolo to wash it away with Water Gun as it dances. Misty wonders why they attack as Brock think they're protecting their territory, but realize they belong to Team Rocket. Brock takes out Croagunk and tells Ash and Misty to go ahead while he stays here to figure something out. They agree and leave as Brock takes out maracas while Luidicolo uses Teeter Dance as Croagunk dances along. Soon after, Yanmega and Amoonguss are dancing as well.
As Ash and Misty come across three paths and don't know where to go, Mime Jr. suggests the first path and they do just that. Latias, while invisible, watches. As they stop by a foggy lake, a Frillish appears and uses Shadow Ball, but it gets canceled by Pikachu's Thunderbolt. As the smoke clears, Yamask shows up and uses Will-O-Wisp, but the attack gets washed away by Staryu's Water Gun. Misty tells Ash to go ahead while knowing that Frillish and Yamask also belong to Team Rocket. Ash agrees and leaves while Pikachu follows. Psyduck came out and wanted to help, but Yamask's mask attached it as it tried to pull it off, but accidentally run to Staryu. Yamask and Frillish laugh at this dilemma.
As Ash and Pikachu run by rocky ledges, a Vine Whip grabbed the latter's tail as the former sends Infernape and uses Mach Punch on the vine, courtesy of Carnivine, freeing Pikachu as he quickly avoided a Seed Bomb courtesy of Gourgeist. Ash tells Pikachu to go with Mime Jr. to Officer Jenny while he handles the two Pokémon. Pikachu agrees and he and Mime Jr. run off as Ash sends out Hawlucha to help out. All the Pokémon charges.
A Slakoth is resting above a tree branch as Pikachu and Mime Jr. arrived by rock formations where the meetup spot takes place as Mime Jr. suggested. Pikachu looks around as Team Rocket appears while determined not to let Mime Jr. get away as Pikachu stands guard. James informs Mime Jr. to get ready as it holds Pikachu. Meowth says to fire the net and James agrees while Jessie tell him to do the same, but as the net fires, Pikachu escapes and Mime Jr. got caught instead while the former sets out sparks in anger for that setup. Jessie and Meowth are surprised at this turn of events as James release Mime Jr. from the net as the latter show its teary face to the former praising it for the accomplishment while stating that he and his team got it covered.
Before Pikachu can retaliate, he quickly avoided Woobat's Air Slash as he discovered Seviper. Pikachu is about to strike with Iron Tail, but got stopped by Inkay's Psybeam while avoiding Seviper's Bite. Pikachu gets surrounded by Team Rocket and their other Pokémon while Jessie, getting the net ready, informs them not to let Pikachu go anywhere as they're getting ready to strike. Latias, while invisible, watches the situation. Inkay and Woobat smack Pikachu, as he uses Thunderbolt to scare them off. Latias uses her vision to see Pikachu avoiding Woobat's Air Slash and Inkay's Psybeam as he confronts Seviper. She looks over there to see Ash and Hawlucha battling while turning back where Team Rocket is as Pikachu avoids Meowth's claws while James gets the net ready as Mime Jr. imitates it. Latias turns back to Ash as he senses something is wrong. Concerned, he tells Hawlucha and Infernape, who is fighting Gourgeist and Carnivine, to go with him as they follow. Gourgeist noticed this as she fires her Seed Bomb in the sky, alerting the trio as they know their plan has been exposed. Jessie informs James to catch Pikachu and escape quickly. Hawlucha arrives and sees this as Pikachu uses Thunderbolt. Seviper goes to strike, but Hawlucha uses Flying Press to stop it as Team Rocket goes to catch him as well. Ash arrives with Infernape, who uses Flare Blitz to burn Team Rocket's nets.
Pikachu and Ash are happy to see each other as Team Rocket's other Pokémon, who kept Ash and his friends busy earlier, shows up. Jessie informs their strength as Meowth wants Pikachu to be handed over. Ash is confused about this and thought Mime Jr. left Team Rocket. Meowth informs Mime Jr.'s leaving them was an act to separate Pikachu as James compliments his Pokémon's performance. Jessie orders the Pokémon to grab the Pokémon belonging to Ash as Frillish, Yamask and Gourgeist uses Shadow Ball, Amoonguss uses Energy Ball, Yanmega uses Silver Wind, Inkay uses Psybeam, Woobat uses Air Slash, Carnivine uses Energy Ball and Seviper uses Sludge Bomb, creating a massive combo move. Ash, Pikachu, Infernape and Hawlucha was able to avoid as the attack is heading for Team Rocket. Wobbuffet steps in to protect the trio as he uses Mirror Coat to send the attack back. The Team Rocket Pokémon quickly avoids as it hits a tree.
The tree, where Slakoth was resting, starts to fall down as Slakoth flies out while Ash jumps up to catch it. Misty and Brock arrived as the invisible Latias rushes in and catches Ash. Misty and Brock are surprised Ash floated as he know Latias is here. Latias make herself visible, surprising Misty and Brock as Jessie recognizes it from before. Angry for everything Team Rocket did, Latias uses Psychic on them and their Pokémon, sending them blasting off. Slakoth yawns as it slowly walks away, as Ash apologizes it for scaring it.
After landing from their blast off, Meowth wondered what went wrong in the plan. James informed Mime Jr.'s act was perfect as Jessie reminds him that he was too slow to fire the net. James was angry for getting blamed for that and mentioned that her and Meowth's orders to launch it was at a bad time. Meowth informs that wasn't his fault as Jessie disbelieve that. Meowth tells her she got greedy for trying to grab as Jessie informs that supposed to happen in these operations and telling them their senses of evil are numb. Meowth, while extending his claws, got insulted by that remark as Jessie and James argue. Meowth put his claws away and informs this is over for them while Jessie and James feel the same way. The trio departs in different directions, while their Pokémon are concerned.
Ash is happy is see Latias again and thanks her for showing him the vision of Pikachu. Misty mentioned Ash told her and Brock that he helped Latias before meeting up with them. Brock is happy about seeing Latias. Soon enough, Latias starts releasing a vision to show the group, revealing a Latios inside a glass wall. He breaks free as the vision shows a steaming landscape outside. As Latias' vision shorts out, she starts to feel concerned as Ash asks her what's happening.
