Synopsis[]

When Lilligant joins the other Pokémon at Cerise Laboratory, Heracross, who was infatuated with Pinsir, is now smitten with Lilligant! While Goh tries to cheer Pinsir up, Chloe discovers a Pokémon flower-arranging class. It seems like a great way to lift Pinsir’s spirits, so our heroes want to join in, too! Guided by Celadon City’s Gym Leader, Erika, the group learns about the importance of flower decorating with Pokémon! But Team Rocket wants to “pick flowers,” too…and steal Pikachu. Team Rocket attacks, but when Pinsir steps in to protect Heracross, their relationship is restored! Now no one will ever forget the connection between Pokémon and flower arranging![1]

Episode plot[]

Returning to Cerise Lab, Goh calls his Pokémon out to meet the latest Pokémon he caught, a Lilligant. Lilligant emits a Sweet Scent that catches Heracross' attention, leaving Pinsir depressed as she believes that Lilligant is stealing her love. Goh notices this after seeing her depressed and wonders how to solve the problem.

Ash and Goh then overhear Chloe and Professor Cerise talking about a flower arranging class they intend to attend to meet with a Leafeon. Goh decides to attend for Pinsir's sake, which initially confuses Chloe but she agrees to it after learning of the situation.

Arriving at the Celadon City Gym, the three meet with the Gym Leader, Erika, who recognizes Ash due to him saving her Gloom when the Gym caught fire as a result of Team Rocket's plot. Erika explains that the Gym also doubles as a research lab on perfumes and scents. Seeing her Leafeon, Eevee is excited and begins to copy her evolved form's movements, leaving Erika impressed upon hearing Chloe's reason and asks Leafeon to make a good example for her. Goh then mutters about coming to make Pokémon fall in love with each other, which Erika finds impressive and agrees to help.

Outside the greenhouse, Team Rocket plots to steal Pikachu again, disguising Meowth and Wobbuffet to enter. However, their chance to steal Pikachu fails, so they call in the Rocket Prize Master and manage to roll Leavanny and Lurantis. Inside, Ash, Goh and Chloe prepare their arrangements; Ash grabs some Christmas lights, Goh has a plan involving Grookey and Chloe decides to emulate Leafeon's arrangement.

After the preparations are done, Ash, Goh and Chloe showcase their arrangements; Pikachu lights up the bulbs using Thunderbolt, while Goh showcases Pinsir and has Grookey using his powers to bloom the flowers on the dress. Chloe showcases her Eevee, impressing Erika as she remarks that Leafeon is happy with the design. As Goh brings Heracross out, Team Rocket makes their move and snatches Pikachu. James tries to have Leavanny take more Pokémon with String Shot, but Erika has Leafeon intercept it with Razor Leaf and Pikachu breaks free with Iron Tail. Heracross immediately battles Lurantis in the process.

Eevee, seeing her evolved form battle, uses Copycat to also use Razor Leaf; combined with Pikachu's Thunderbolt, Leavanny faints from the combined attack. Meanwhile, Heracross is pushed back by Lurantis with Petal Blizzard before charging up Solar Beam. Seeing her beloved in trouble, Pinsir intercepts the attack with her own body before Goh orders her to use X-Scissor, sending Lurantis flying into Team Rocket and blasting them off. Pinsir is upset that her dress was ruined, but Heracross was impressed by her bravery and falls in love with her again, much to her delight.

As they leave, Erika gives Chloe a bottle of Leafeon perfume. Heracross tries to hold Pinsir's hand, who's flustered to the point that she grabs him by her pincers as a form of hugging, much to both his and Goh's surprise.
