Episode plot[]
In the Galar region, a large group of Eiscue is seen inhabiting the snowy area. A single Eiscue resting on a chunk of ice slowly floats out to sea, waking up and realizing it is alone and far from its group. Meanwhile, at Cerise Park, the Pokémon of the park prepare to eat. Grookey and Pikachu wildly eat a bowl of Pokémon food as the other Pokémon neatly line up to receive Berries from Goh's Raichu. The Pokémon lining up resemble the Pokémon Falinks, a Fighting-type Pokémon from the Galar region that Chrysa shows an image of to Ash and Goh. After learning about the new Pokémon, Ash and Goh decide to travel to the Galar region to see one for themselves.
The Eiscue continues to stand on the ice chunk carrying it out to see as a Wingull flies overhead. Suddenly, the ice begins to break into pieces slowly causing Eiscue to fall into the water. As Eiscue falls into the water, its head allows it to float above the water. With Ash and Goh, they look through the brush of the Galar region in order to find Falinks. Instead, Goh finds an odd-looking Poké Ball and attempts to grab it. He is surprised to see a pair of eyes as a Pokémon leaps from the ground, snapping at Goh. The Poké Ball was actually the mouth of a Galarian Stunfisk, a Ground/Steel-type variant of Stunfisk. Goh throws a Poké Ball at the Trap Pokémon, successfully catching it. With a new Pokémon captured, Ash and Goh happily continue looking for Falinks.
As Esicue washes ashore, it realizes it has found land and happily runs, only to trip on a Galarian Slowpoke's tail and smashes its ice head into a rock, shattering the ice. Worried about its icy head being gone, Eiscue quickly looks for a source of ice. It sees a nearby frozen treat stand with a woman packing away cubes of ice, so it rushes over and places its head in the cooler. As the woman prepares to serve treats to some children at the stand, she picks up Eiscue by its legs and flings Eiscue away from the stand, causing Eiscue to land in the back of a moving truck. As Ash and Goh continue looking, they finally come across a Falinks which Goh identifies with his Pokédex. They see the Falinks encounter a wild Boldore as the Falinks get into formation to attack, striking the Boldore once with a quick hit as it flees.
The Eiscue continues riding in the back of the truck it is now in, visualizing the landscape as the snow-covered shore it called home. The truck suddenly bumps Eiscue out of the trunk, causing it to slide down the road and off a cliff, falling into a river as it floats using its ice head. Meanwhile, Goh takes pictures of the various activities the Falinks partake in together using their teamwork. However, he begins to realize that the brass of the group is beginning to become out of sync with marching. Grookey suddenly becomes exciting and hits the Falinks troopers each on the head with its stick. This angers the Falinks, causing them to leap into the air to attack. Pikachu attacks the Falinks with Thunderbolt, shocking the Falinks and scattering the brass from the troopers. As Ash collects the troopers, Goh chases the brass down a hill as it nearly bounces into a river.
As Goh and the brass rest by the river, they spot the floating Eiscue drifting by. The brass leaps out of Goh's arms and orders the Falinks troopers to attack, though it realizes that it's troopers are missing. The brass Falinks is also worried about its status and if it can lead its troopers properly, to which Goh encourages it. Meanwhile, Ash counts the trooper Falinks as they look around for their leader. They decide to line up behind Pikachu, much to his surprise. Pikachu attempts waving its tail and running away, though the troopers follow. Ash attempts to place one in front of Pikachu to act as the leader, though the troopers move in order to make Pikachu the leader.
With Eiscue still floating down the river, it thinks about how it will eventually float home. However, it comes across a waterfall and falls down onto a branch that flings it far into the mountains of the Galar region. Goh and Grookey talk with the brass about its confidence in leading. The brass Falinks is still worried, so Goh gets the help of some of his Pokémon. Goh throws four Poké Balls into the air, releasing Cinderace, Raichu, Pansear, and Panpour. The four Pokémon along with Grookey all line up to teach Falinks how to lead, though the plan quickly falls apart when the Pokémon are no match for Cinderace's speed. Saddened by its failure, Cinderace Sita down as Raichu offers it a Berry. Raichu also offers Falinks a Berry and, while it is distracted, the Pokémon line up behind the brass. Seeing the line, Falinks commands the Pokémon to March forward, though they all fall down again. The Pokémon attempt to line up one more time and quickly succeed, letting Falinks command them as they easily follows its marching orders.
As Pikachu continues to run away from the following Falinks troopers, Ash wonders where Goh went with the brass. The trooper is then seen successfully leading the Pokémon in a straight formation, more confident than ever. With Eiscue, it emerges from the forest bushes with leaves sticking to its icy face.
Goh returns to Ash with the Pokémon still following the Falinks leader and the troopers still following Pikachu. The brass quickly runs to the troopers and gets in the front of the line, commanding them to March with confidence. Pikachu is relieved that the troopers have stopped following him, though Cinderace and the other Pokémon line up behind Pikachu instead before walking away. The Falinks is now much more confident and the group begins to charge forward. As they begin, the wild Eiscue leaps from the bushes covered in leaves and the two Pokémon crash into each other. Goh identifies the Penguin Pokémon and the Falinks charges into Eiscue again, starting a battle.
While Eiscue is flung by the charge, it uses Icicle Spear, scaring the troopers. As the troopers go into chaos, the brass commands them to line up, easily causing Falinks to reunite. Eiscue attempts to use Headbutt while the Falinks get in formation, hitting back with a strong head-on attack and sending Eiscue back. The Penguin Pokémon continues to use Icicle Spear, though the confident Falinks dodges all of the attacks. Eiscue continues to use Headbutt, though Falinks uses Protect, causing the impact of the Headbutt to crack Eiscue's ice face. The Falinks attacks with one final strike, causing Eiscue's true face to be shown. Embarrassed by its loss and now revealed face, Eiscue flees into the bushes. Confused but happy due to the victory, Goh and Ash congratulate the Falinks.
Eiscue, now in its Noice Form, continues to run through the forest as it falls off a cliff and into a river, floating on its back sadly. Ash and Goh watch the Falinks brass and troopers converse as they line up and call to Goh, wanting to join him on his journey. Excited, Goh throws a Poké Ball and Falinks is successfully caught. As Ash and Goh head back to the lab with the new Pokémon, Cinderace and the other Pokémon follow Pikachu just like the troopers, surprising Pikachu.
Eiscue continues to float down the river as ice reforms on its face. As it floats through the water, the ice reforms and it suddenly hits a snowy piece of land. It climbs ashore and sees its snowy home with the Eiscue present, waving to them as the sun sets.
