Synopsis[]
While running errands for Professor Cerise, Goh and Chloe express their admiration for Grookey and Eevee, but they realize the two Pokémon have never run any errands by themselves! As Grookey and Eevee set off on their own, Ash suggests keeping a watchful eye on them—secretly, of course. Meanwhile, Team Rocket has sent Pelipper on an errand as well: to get vanilla ice cream for their apple pie! Suddenly, Pelipper runs into Grookey, who is happy to accept a ride. After several exhausting bumps along the way, all the errands are successfully completed…although Morpeko devours Team Rocket’s dessert before anyone else can take a bite![1]
Episode plot[]
Ash, Goh and Chloe head to a Pokémon Center to pick up some supplements from Nurse Joy until Grookey and Eevee begin to cause trouble by hopping into a nearby Chansey's pouch. Grookey and Eevee cause Chansey's egg to fly from its pouch, though Ash's Pikachu is able to dive in on time and save the egg. The three children walk out of the Pokémon Center while Goh and Chloe explain that their Pokémon don't normally cause trouble, only to see the two Pokémon running across a busy street. The three eventually catch up with the troublesome Pokémon as Goh and Chloe continue to state their Pokémon are troublemakers. Ash suggests that the two mischievous Pokémon go on an errand to test their responsibility.
Goh and Chloe give the supplements to Grookey and Eevee by wrapping bandanas around their necks while Goh shows the two Pokémon that they must head to Cerise Laboratory to deliver the parcel. The two Pokémon set off as Goh and Chloe look on, worried that they might fail. Ash reveals that they will actually be secretly watching over the two Pokémon to make sure they don't get into trouble, reliving the worries of the two.
Meanwhile, at Team Rocket's secret base, the group is excited to see which Pokémon they will receive from the Rocket Prize Master. Meowth excitedly leaps onto the machine as two Poké Balls are dispensed, revealing Appletun and Vanillite. The two food-based Pokémon leave Team Rocket tempted to eat them, though Jessie is cautious of Morpeko's presence. Morpeko is simply lying in a box, relieving Team Rocket as they place Vanillite on top of Appletun, leaving them with mouth's watering. Jessie decides to get a special box from under the crew's sofa, only to reveal that they had a real apple pie all along. Jessie also asks James if he brought the ice cream to go along with it, but the entire crew realizes that they forgot the ice cream. Pelipper, who has been sitting by, decides to fly off and get the apple pie topping for itself.
The two Pokémon continue to stroll to get to Cerise Laboratory as the three children watch closely, content on the responsibility Grookey and Eevee have shown off so far. However, a Trainer with a Geodude passes by, intriguing the two Pokémon. Grookey hits Geodude on the back with its stick as Eevee tickles Geodude with its tail. Surprised by the sudden encounter, Geodude flees into a nearby alleyway, surprising its Trainer as the two troublemakers follow close behind. Ash leaps from his bush disguise and sends out Gengar to help him as he chases after the three fleeing Pokémon. Ash and Gengar hide behind a corner as Ash tells Gengar to use Psychic to lift some nearby trash. As the three Pokémon continue to run through the alleyway, they come across the floating trash, spooking them and sending them running as Gengar continues to scare them. Ash attempts to catch up with the terrified Pokémon but eventually becomes tired of running, telling Gengar to stop its scaring. The Pokémon emerge from the alley with Geodude returning to its Trainer as Grookey and Eevee continue towards Cerise Laboratory, almost spotting Ash, Goh and Chloe along the way.
Nearby, Pelipper flies across town and sits at a nearby bench. Team Rocket reveals themselves disguises as mannequins as they watch Pelipper in a similar manner to the three children from earlier watching their Pokémon complete an errand. Pelipper quickly becomes hungry, sitting at the bench drooling as Team Rocket looks on. Meowth walks over disguises as an old woman to give Pelipper directions to the ice cream place only for the small slip of paper to fly away in the wind. Pelipper flies after the paper to follow the directions as Team Rocket continues to keep an eye on Pelipper's errand.
Ash, Goh and Chloe continue to watch over Grookey and Eevee's errand as Goh states that they are arriving towards the Cerise Laboratory. However, the two Pokémon approach a busy street, worrying Chloe. Despite her worries, the two Pokémon wait for the crossing light and look both ways before crossing the street, relieving Chloe as her and Goh remark on their Pokémon's responsibility. However, Team Rocket's Pelipper suddenly swoops towards the two, surprising the three onlooking children. Ash sends out his Sirfetch'd which quickly lunges in to protect the Pokémon with its shield as it deflects Pelipper away from the Pokémon. Chloe notices Grookey and Eevee bunched together and worryingly rushes over to take care of them before realizing they are only crowding around a Diglett popping from the ground. Grookey and Eevee are quickly distracted by Team Rocket nearby selling Casteliacones in a truck. Grookey rushes over but drops the supplements it was holding, leaving Eevee to retrieve them. Pelipper flies near the truck as James places a box full of ice cream into Pelipper's mouth before Team Rocket speeds off in a truck, leaving Pelipper to return to Team Rocket's base. However, Grookey leaps into Pelipper's mouth as it attempts to reach for the box of ice cream, leaving Pelipper to fly off with Grookey in its mouth. With Ash, Goh and Grookey gone, Eevee is left with the supplements as it chases after the others with Chloe watches.
The two boys continue to chase after Pelipper but suddenly come across a Snorlax blocking the way. They climb over the Sleeping Pokémon quietly, though they lose sight of Pelipper. As Pelipper flies through the air with Grookey in its mouth, Grookey spots Cerise Laboratory and tells Pelipper to fly towards the laboratory so it can finish its errand. At Team Rocket's base, the team is still waiting for Pelipper to deliver the ice cream for their pie. Pelipper arrives and opens its mouth to reveal the ice cream box still in place, pleasing Team Rocket as they congratulate Pelipper on its successful deliver. Meowth places the Casteliacone on top of the apple pie, leaving Team Rocket amazed at the treat they are about to eat. However, Morpeko quickly leaps in and devours the dessert in an instant, leaving Team Rocket in tears.
Grookey finds itself in the middle of a forest, angered that it is lost. However, in its rage, the bandana holding the supplements drops out, reminding Grookey of its important task. Grookey uses the rag and its stick to make a bindle as it sets off for Cerise Laboratory. Ash, Goh and Chloe wait by Cerise Laboratory at sunset as Eevee arrives with the supplements while Chloe cried with relived to see Eevee's okay. Grookey limps in the distance from the forest as it carries the bindle filled with supplements towards the three waiting children. Grookey collapses while Ash attempts to rush over to help it, though Chloe stops him before he can get to Grookey. Goh continues to motivate Grookey as it slowly struggles to get towards the three. Through its efforts, Grookey eventually makes it to Goh and leaps into his arms, crying but happy. Grookey excitedly shows Goh the bindle it made while Goh lifts Grookey into the air excitedly. The three children congratulate Grookey and Eevee for their efforts outside of the lab as the day is over.
