Episode plot[]
In Cerise Park, the once grassy fields have bloomed into fields of flowers. The Pokémon of the park are enjoying the flowers while Ash and Goh are giving the park's Grass-type Pokémon a water sprinkling with hoses. Suddenly, four of Goh's Flabébé float by and, as the boys follow the Pokémon, they all suddenly evolve at once into Floette. Goh identifies the Floette with his Rotom Phone and is pleased by their evolution, though he is quick to notice that one of them is missing. He calls for the last Pokémon as the White Flower Flabébé floats to him crookedly, nearly falling into a nearby river before Ash and Goh save it. As Goh holds the Flabébé in his hands, he notices that one of the petals on Flabébé's flower is missing. The boys then decide they will take Flabébé to the Kalos region to find a new flower for it to hold.
The boys and Flabébé arrive in Shalour City and begin their search for flowers. Flabébé attempts to float off, though it bobs through the air unstably, prompting Goh to put Flabébé on his shoulder as he places its original flower in a jar. As Flabébé is saddened by its flower being contained, it quickly floats up to Goh's hair, clinging on to his ahoge. Flabébé quickly learns it is able to move Goh using his hair and makes him walk forward. Grookey also leaps on and tugs at Goh's hair, causing a bit of chaos as Grookey and Flabébé disagree on which way to go. The group continues through a patch of tall grass to a supposedly flowery spot, though they are met with simple grass and rocks with no flowers in sight.
The boys and their Pokémon head to a Pokémon Center and decide to rest and eat. Goh notices that Flabébé has not been eating its food and offers it some Honey, only for Flabébé to refuse. Grookey becomes worried, though it quickly leaps to Goh's shoulder and grabs the cup of Honey, spilling it on Goh's hair. Grookey then proceeds to morph Goh's hair with Honey, turning it into different shapes and cheering up Flabébé. The group settles down in an apartment room of the Pokémon Center and notify Professor Cerise over Goh's Rotom Phone that their flower searching has been unsuccessful. During the night, Flabébé begins to tug at Goh's hair. Goh heads outside and reassures Flabébé that it will find a new flower eventually as the took look out at the Tower of Mastery as the moonlight shines upon it.
In the morning, the group immediately goes to look for a flower for Flabébé. They come across similar looking white flowers, though none of them are suitable by Flabébé. After a long day, the group settles down at a campfire as Goh gives Flabébé water. Flabébé quickly spots a white flower, though it realizes that it was simply its original wilted flower, still kept inside of a jar. As the group is sleeping, Goh wakes up to find that Flabébé and its original white flower are missing. Goh comes across Flabébé and its original flower, attempting to float away but falling down to the ground every time. Goh catches Flabébé before it can fall another time and Flabébé returns to attaching to Goh's ahoge.
In the morning, the boys receive a call from Professor Cerise and learn of a flower shop in the Kalos region. The boys head to the shop and greet the owner and are also met with an Orange Flower Florges. The Florges notices Flabébé clinging to Goh's hair and takes it in its hands. It brings Flabébé to a garden and places it on the branch of a tree. As Florges uses Grassy Terrain, the shrubs in the garden begins to bloom flowers, exciting Flabébé. Florges plays with Flabébé as it offers the Single Bloom Pokémon to look at the orange flowers. The flower shop owner is informed that Flabébé used to hold a white flower and tells them of white flowers that grow in the mountains. The group thanks the flower shop owner for her advice and they take a bus towards the mountains of Kalos.
As the group treks through the mountains, they come across flowers, though they do not appear to be in bloom yet and are pink instead of white. They continue to search through the day until night. However, Flabébé quickly notices that nighttime is approaching and tugs on Goh's hair to head back to the flowers they spotted before. Grookey helps by tugging on Goh's hair, sending him back. The group approaches the pink flowers as the moonlight shines onto them, causing them to bloom into beautiful white flowers. Ash and Goh are amazed by the flowers as Goh lowers Flabébé to them, letting the small Pokémon tug onto a new flower. Flabébé picks one of the flowers and floats back to Ash and Goh before the group notices another Flabébé without a flower as it tugs on one of the newly bloomed white flowers. The wild Flabébé greets Goh's Flabébé as it floats off into the sky. Goh's Flabébé notices that there is a single white flower left to be picked and it decides to copy the motions of the flower shop owner's Florges using Grassy Terrain. Flabébé begins to glow as it evolve into a Floette, continuing the arm motions of Florges until it uses Grassy Terrain, causing the white flower to grow two more pink buds. Goh looks at the newly bloomed flower and remembers the time it had with Flabébé's quest to evolve before realizing it should be able to go on its own.
The group gathers at a cliffside as the sun rises with Goh holding Floette in his hands. The group begins to tear up as they are ready to bid farewell to Floette. After some parting words, Goh lifts Floette into the air as it floats off into the nearby forest while the gang waves it goodbye.
